Ive been looking around for a car and ive decided on a skyline, it has everything i want

what do you all think about this:

http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...id=122503DD83F8

It makes it hard with the p plate restrictions, but to me this car looks pretty clean

any ideas pointing me in the right direction for my first car would be appreciated.

cheers.

If it was a turbo one it would be cheaper. The NA's are higher in price (note i didnt say "worth more") due to the p plate laws. If those laws didnt exist you can bet it would be worth sh!t all.

Being a GTS4 at least its not that hard to get a crazy turbo motor in there after you're off your p plates.

Also, do you really think those k's are genuine?

All you can do is inspect it, get a skyline workshop to give you a report on it, then give the seller a reasonable offer and take it off his hands.

Just a thought, why can't you buy a Turbo version for lets say 10k, maybe even less and remove the turbo? Can you just update the regustration to not having a turbo? Maybe you wont need an engineers certificate for loss of power...

I'm not sure on any of these specifics but just thought I would throw the idea in the air.

Just a month ago i was in your same position, and i saw this car on carsales. But this one was too expensive for me (very nice car though) and i ended up buying the car i have now which is a silver R33 GTS25 manual. :)

I dont think its worth the trouble, my mate was quoted $2000 to get it done on his R33.

Just seems like to much hassle but the idea has crossed my mind a few times

i have noticed that the n/a's have gone up but this type of car has everything i want, especially the AWD.

what do you mean when you say are the k's genuine?

my plan if i brought any R33 was to take it to the R33 austalian compliance shop,

remember dude dont go totally off km, judge and inspect the car for yourself

if the car has 60,000 however the trim is looking shabby and there are tears in the seats n shit - then u kno the odo as been wound back...

just keep that in mind

tell the guy to post proper pics of his car next time not poser pics at angles...

otherwise i wouldn't trust the km on the car based on the interior shot, my civic looks in better condition with 80 thou on the clock.

those wheels look foul

dude go out and actually look at some of these boats  - posting up links of r33s isnt going to get you ne where..

yah i know, im trying to get people opinions so i know whats decent and whats not, which will help me make my end choice,

also saves me 6 hours + getting to grithifth

I had a N/A R33 for a few years, nice cars to drive.

My opinion, if you can, buy something small now as the non turbo 33's are quite expensive for what they are... If you are thinking about doing a GTS-T engine swap at a later date remember you will have to factor such things as brakes etc...

If you purchase something different now for less then those prices, it will give you time to save for an awesome 33 GTST when you get off your p's...

But its totally up to you.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
