nice work dude

i pulled my PCV valve out yesterday to check it. it works fine and was a little oily (to be expected) and i was going to clean it but realised i parked my car infront of the shelf that its stored on and couldnt get to it lol

also, learnt the vq35 throttle bodies are the same size as ours, and its quite large already..........

Reviving a zombie thread from the glory days - and registered - just to say WOOT! Thanks guys, prolly saved me a packet 'troubleshooting-by-replacement'!

Anyhow, just to confirm blocking the PCV tube downstream of the TB dropped a high, surging idle on a 2008 Nissan 350z VQ35HR (that had just stupidly had its TB's cleaned) down to around 850rpm - and allowed an idle relearn to run & stick. It now sits on 650rpm and ~15deg BTDC. Pretty much perfect!

After reading soooo maaaany threads on this topic - generally without resolution (other than TB/ECU replacement), I figured it might be worth posting my thanks and confirmed resolution and hopefully gaining you a few Google search ranking levels in the process ;-)

Cheers,

Guv

Hi - to also add to an old thread.

I've been having the same issues and unable to complete the air idle volume learning to happen and drop my revs. I read heaps of stuff from G37, 350Z, and even pathfinders, that there is a common issue with unplugging the throttle bodies and not able to complete the relearn (especially with the VQ35HR engine)

I saw a post on 350z forum and gave it a try - I unplugged both throttle bodies and left them a few moments, before plugging back in. It worked! - it must have put the ECU out of its funk and allowed the learning procedure to work!

Now lets hope it stays that way!
