prob better to be posted in the forced induction area...

a piggy back wont do half as much as a proper replacement ecu can. you'll get better results and better tuning for furutre mods from a proper ecu like the powerFC, adaptronic etc etc

Save your pennies and go for one of them if you can.

in saying that, I know siddr had his r33 ecu remapped by...toshi? no....cant think of his name but has a thread in business traders section of sau, could check that out?

also depends on what you want from the car.

is it just a daily?

will you use it for track?

drags?

circuit?

are you going to do more mods later on? what mods do you have now?

all that will help you decide!

I run a NisTune on my car. It's basically the stock ECU with the board replaced to make it tuneable.

Personally i think its brilliant. You get all the benefits of a stock ECU but now with adjust-ability. My car makes 280kw at the rears, and for what is mostly a street car with the odd track day its fine. No issues what so ever.

In saying that it depends on what you are doing with the car. Mine is largely stock and will stay that way, so personally at this stage i had no need to go to an aftermarket ECU when i had this set up, installed and tuned for under $700.

Yup Toshi. Great bloke and did an awesome tune!!

If your Sydney be sure to check him out

I couldnt afford to tune my powerfc (750 or so), as i was still a uni student etc.. So i sold my powerfc and decided to get my ecu remapped for just 400-500 bucks. I knew i wasnt going to upgrade my turbo anytime soon so that was the best option for me. Why spent 1k upwards for a powerfc plus 750 for a tune when i could get the same results for under 500 bucks. Hence why Toshi was the answer hehe..

So be sure to check him out if you are interested.
