Hi All,

Can anyone advise on how to wire the original heated seat switches please.

Or possibly take a pic of the wiring/plug behind it so I can see the wire colours.

I believe 2 pins will be power input, 1 pin will be power to the seat and 1 negative.

Any help appreciated...

Thanks/Regards,

Pete

the swtiches are only for the seat heating,in two stages, low and high, for each seat. I don't have my loom handy, and the car I drive atm doesn't appear to have the plugs for the heaters,so I can't show you any details.

Cheers TJ.

If you pop em out use a small flat-head screwdriver and be gentle not to slip/scratch.

There's two little notches on the bottom edge to use for levering out the switch panel.

Im 500m from the Burvale  mmmm beeeeeer

ok this pic it looking down from the top, where the clip to remove the plug is

Left-Purple..........................Right-Blue | Left - Purple............................Right - Blue

Bottom Left-Red(orange)......Bottom Right Black | Bottom Left - Red(orange)........Bottom Right - Black

Hi All,

Still trying to suss out the original heated switch to seat wiring.

Soughta held out till i could find the workshop manual to do things properly, it's all Japanese but the diagrams help.

The diagram from the stagea manual shows a 3 pin socket at the seat.

pin 21 + High, pin 2 + Low and pin 22 Earth -

However on the seat socket I actually have four pins..... so im at a bit of a loss.

Presently i run the yellow and red + wires via my own switch/fuse/relay to accessories and

both the black & black/white assuming both are earth - straight to body so i can have a warm bum and move the seats.

Do you think I would run wire 2 (+low) to the yellow wire on the seat socket and wire 21 (+ Hi) to the black/white wire on the seat socket?

Doing this I would assume the black wire is the earth for the heating and motor in the seat

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,

Pete

Hi There,

Just thought I'd update this chat with a wiring diagram i drew up that got my heated/electric seats up and running in the old Stag.  Had a few queries over the years and more recently.

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?

LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
