Official Thread *** Victorian Drift Club Practice Day ***

Recommended Posts

ALL SPOTS ARE NOW FILLED!

Thank you to those that pre-entered :)

What time does the gates open and what time is scruitenning n stuff?? And like what time does it get over??

Couldnt find this info on vicdrift also!!

What time should i be there !!!!

Gates open around 7:45am, scrutineering opens at 8am. Track closes at 5pm but usually if there is alot of crap on the track it closes earlier and we sweep the track..

(Especially given its a saturday event.. There will be a track day on the sunday)

You can always pm me for info.. im a one woman show when it comes to updating the info area of the vic drift forum and sometimes simple details skip my mind as i simply assume people know stuff like that as its the same at every event :) my bad..

see you guys on saturday :) Anyone wana wash my car?!

Hmm so theres no point if i come early and bring my car on the trailer because i havnt pre booked or anyhting... Is it still cool if a few of my boys rock up?

It was probably the most fun I have had at Winton. Tandems with mates are always the highlight. The 33 drove the 5 hours there, drifted all day on the limiter then drove the 5 hours home again. Lost track of how many times it has done it!

The only thing that could have made it better was if the lazy bastards who didn't pre-enter were not let in and there for more track time for those who made the effort to pre-enter. There was no excuse really... it was plastered over all the main forums and the 70 other people all some how knew about it.

I am all for the 60 car limit.

Dean, your car look fantastic out there.

Gunmetal, your car was also looking the goods.

I've got over 2000 photos to go through the next few days and get them up, was going to start them lastnight but i was sick and in bed by about 7:30 .

Thanks mate, it also felt fantastic. Those guys at centreline really know how to setup a car.

I have some seriously good in cam footage to show... keep an eye out on youtube :) Will advise once its up...

I had one of the best times in my life... The event was organised really well and the winton guyz wer really helpful.. I hardly managed to get any pics so waiting for someone to put it up... Made alot of new friends also..↲

Hey gunmetal i would like to see some of ur in car footage

I will post it up when i get a chance. My camera was acting up so not sure exactly how much I actually ended up getting.

It was nice to meet you Zaver but a word of advice- you gotta be real careful and keep your eyes out when you spin or go off track! One time you went off the track behind the front bunker and a group of 5 of us came screaming around on to the front straight only to have to all brake and spin our cars because you pulled back on the track in front of us when you should have probably waited until we had passed.

Just be aware of what the cars in front of you and behind you are doing and maybe get a bit more practice in before jumping in the tandem line.

How did you go with your bash plate anyway?

Edited by gunmetalgrey

Well i guess i was a little excited on the day!! Will keep that in mind for the next time...

And abt my bash plate its still hanging i really have to get it fixed just havent gathered any time for it... Well maybe ill go see a metal customizer for sm info on it... Do u know the guyz name who did urs ??

That is what I would recommend. Mine was just bent up by a local metal fabricator and cost $20 but it's no use really giving you his name as he is 4 hours away from you. The s13 was exactly the same as the R33 except different bolt holes were needed so I presume the R34 would be similar with different bolt holes needing to be drilled.

Some good pictures of your 33 in there Dean

Yeah, those shots were taken by my mates dad - guy with the chaser. Some really nice shots in there. Cant wait to see the shots from the professional photograpers that were there. Have any been put up yet?

Me and my mate with the chaser both had video cams bolted to our rear parcel shelf. The footage is fantastic, I will advise once its up on youtube...

Dean, i got your PM.

Mine will be up around 5pm tonight, had a few problems uploading the other day so basically had to start again, my ISP is going to rape me this month :P

That chaser was mint too, was he at the beginners section at the Round 2 event?

    • I couldn't agree more. I should have started from the get-go with a NEO or solid bucket conversion. I started looking into converting over to solid lifters yesterday. Now for some reason I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  But I see no mention of this on any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must me missing something?
    • BRUH, one of the biggest mistakes of my life..... and i've had plenty ;[)
    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.
