G'day,

Well i've had my R31 for many years and its time to upgrade. I'm looking at getting an R33 Gts-t (as close to stock as possible) BUT before i go ahead with this i just want to check that the front end won't scrape the ground when entering my driveway.

I'm hoping someone can come check this for me? I live near the essendon train station and will be eternally grateful. I think it will be ok but want to make sure before i lash out 10-12k! I don't wanna park my baby on the street!

Let me know if you can assist me PLEASE. Appreciate any feedback/help.

Cheers!

PS: Sorry, i also posted this on another forum but the Victoria section seems more suitable.

If youre after a stocker, theyre actually fairly high, in my understanding...should clear most driveways. Unfortunately cant help as the GTR is set lower stock anyways, but you should be able to drive it up...even if it seems too low, if u come in on an angle u will be fine.

I'm willing to do it but I live a bit far, and with petrol prices prob better off finding someone nearer but if you cant find anyone else to do it give me a shout

Edit: Maybe take a photo of your drive way? I know it's not the best way but maybe some drivers can tell you what they think

Thanks for the tips.

Kamikaze, I saw a stock one today and you're right, they're pretty high.

And racin8 I can't really do this it's a shared driveway with about 10 other townhouses.

James K i'll take a photo and post it up later and see if i get any feedback.

It's just a steep descent and then levels out.

Anyway, see how i go. Thanks again for your help.

SAU rocks!

My car hates driveways. You should see my lip

its not the car hating driveways...you just need to learn how to approach a driveway hahahahahahaha

sorry mate id help but got a 34. oh and its also fairly low lol

Its not getting in...its getting out nose first on a slope with cars up ur ass behind u unwilling to move so u can back up and try again....driveways here for shopping centres and stuff are harsh man. I LOVE melbourne for how easy all your shops and such are to get in and out of. i struggle with some of them here in ballarat...in my stock N16.

lol i dont care whose behind me. ill go as slow as i want with as much angle as i have to to get out of a driveway. theres been cases where iv taken up a whole entrance hahaha. cause if the car gets damaged you have to live with it and pay for it to get repaired not the ones behind you. so ye i take my time and get in right lol

    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
