honkie
Hey everyone Just wanted to know if anyone has been defected for a oil catch can in NSW? Im new with this and i have a couple of questions, i hope someone can help me out. I have a r33 series 2 and just wanted to know whats the difference between: (a) rectangular oil catch can to a round one? (b) is it better to have a breather and what does it actually do? I cant seem to search for it on the net. Heaps of link comes up but doesnt really explain what it does. Thanks for your help Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/284985-is-oil-catch-can-defect/ Share on other sites
SECURITY
a) one is in the shape of a rectangle, and the other is round. b) breather is for setups that have the air venting into the atmosphere (atmo). its really a personal preference on if you want to recirculate the breather air or make it atmo. technically it isn't/shouldn't be a defect if you recirculate the air back into your intake - but cops in NSW are arseholes. once i got defected for 'engine modifications'... like wtf?? if you get a cop who doesn't know what he is doing he will defect you for it because it isn't standard, and that is the case with 99.9% of NSW highway patrol - so for safety's sake i'm going to say yes, its a defect because REALLY its you and your luck. Hi there, Well my question really means is there a difference between the round and rectangular catch can. Like do they work differently or one of the type is actually better than the other. Yeah some cops are asshole and some are dumb!! I got pulled over once when i had my stock integra, the cop asked me if it was modified and he checked under the bonnet but im not scared because it is stock as a rock then he asked me if it was turbo? Im like WTF hahha Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/284985-is-oil-catch-can-defect/#findComment-4788524 Share on other sites
