Any one interested in a cruise sat nite? It would be fun.

I am up for a midnight or late cruise

I will be bugged after a track day and a chrismas dinner on sat.....but I like to test out the new 540....that's if I could get them today

Getting excited about this track day now

Pitty that most ppl car are not ready yet :)

Erica and I will be coming down for a look, but not at 10:00am!! Way too early!! :) We'll get there at about lunch time.  Matt you coming with us or working on your car?

I'm a coming......like a grease monkey =p better bring a towel for ole stinky to sit on----love the grease.

got my re540s and wheel alignemt today :)

alignment is a tad less than perfect :) but that will do for now

re540s on my 16" stock rims are sticky but seems to sideroll a lot more than what was on my 18". However the weight loss from 18"-->16" rims feels great in term of acceleration. I weighted last night and it's something like almost 19kg/4 wheels. ....hmm need to find some twisty roads tonight to get use to this setup and prepare for track tomorrow.

So are you guys meeting at Sefton for a small cruise up there? Cant wait to hit some high speed corners tomorrow :D

Common guys, come down the track and burn some rubber.

The event was so fun.

There were 3 porsches there, 911tt4wd, GT3 and a ?996 race car. I think matt said I am about 5 sec behind the 911. This is not bad considering it's my first time there and the alignment setting was not setted as aggressive to prolong tyres life.

However, it did not feel like a 5 sec slower with those beast around. It's really difficult to keep up!!!!! I was getting the hang of it until my supercharger belt shredded :) Luckily there was no other damge and the car is still driveable. Well no boost or 9krpm for the next few weeks for me.

I think we all had fun there today. Thanks for the delicious food nightcrawler.

We should organise another Skyline track day. I hope we will get more pple next time.

Quote of the day

"You are faster than nightcrawler" from Matt

hehehe poor nightcrawler with a fresh set of Dunlop street rubber. It must have been difficult to control that beast.

yes, yes it was  .... was very unhappy with my LM702s and found out why when we got home - after a couple of laps they went molten .... they have melted and set several times over by the looks of it - lots of thick patches that had been very runny at some point.

Was a fun day anyhow - and I only spun it once. I well and truly proved the point that my car needs new suspension too :(

was a good day out, im burnt today tough. Andrew you need betr rubber and suspension, Well done dan those 540's work a treak, nex time hope to see more out there and mabye ill have my own car by then

yes, had I had 540s on the front and rear like Dan, maybe I coulda got some of my power to the ground

It was great sideways fun all the same :( .... love the 4 wheel dorifto

Nice meeting you guys too.

Many thanks to nightcrawler for organising the event, providing the delicious food and putting on a drift show on the race track in front of 2 porsches hehehehe.

I am itching to get back there again guys. I want to up my boost so much to catch up with the 911 turbo. Apparently that is the fastest road legal/track car in Australia as money can buy

I hope you will get your beast then too mattr

Nightcrawler when will you be ready again?

John your car is nice mate

I think we should aim for an April day .... when the weather starts getting a bit cooler, but it is still unlikely to rain.

And maybe I can sort out my suspension and save up for a set of new 540s by then :) - then maybe I can keep up with you Dan

I betta bring a spare belt then :D

nightcrawler, I had a look and found that

250F is about 121Celcius...it's not too bad.

My temp maxed at 132C which is about 270F

I need an oil cooler mate.

Which oil cooler do you recommend mate?

We should do a group buy .... I have been following the progress of this one on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...gory=43807&rd=1 - I will be interested to see how much it goes for. It sounds like he has a business - so maybe we can approach him to do a group buy? Anyone else interested in an oil cooler? As the ad says it helps slow down the degradation of your oil - hence makes it work better for longer.

    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
