Hey guys!

Picked up my r34 skyline not long ago and its a non turbo but has a GTR wing on it.. I like it and I'm keeping it, but I also like upgrading car audio.

I've got a low power temporary sub sitting in the boot at the moment and from inside the car sounds good, but from the exterior it's a different story.

The bit where the wing mounts onto the boot is ever so slightly loose and can be shut up if I jam something under it as small as a folded piece of paper, but is there a way to just tighten it??

Also, the adjustable part of it has actually bowed slightly and sits heavily on the rest of the spoiler, but when I've got the bass pumping, even at low levels, this rattles like crazy (again, only audible from outside the car). Does it just need adjusting up or is there another way to get around this??

i had a similar problem, had water leaking in through the spoiler holes and massive rattles

i created some 'gasket' to sit between the boot and the spoiler,

out of rubber mat from bunnings, worked perfectly,

stopped water leak and supressed the rattle heaps

had a similar problem with m r33 wing, i used the thick expensive clear 3m double sided tape underneath it to fix the problem

had it on my 32 as well (not from epic hektik subs - just noticed it at high speeds)

i removed the spoiler, discovered the water and rust

so i got a new boot with no spoiler holes :D

how to tell if its a fake fibreglass copy?

well look under neath the wing where the stands bolt to the wing, it should be a plate with 2 screws, if theres no screws and the stands just go straight to the bottom of thewing then its a copy.

oem one has a plate that screws to the stands with 2x 10mm bolts and then that bolts to the bottom of the wing with 2 screws or so.

    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
