Hey guys, so the R32 GTR is:

Moving all over the rev range

Stalls if you dont give it some revs

Smells like fuel, running rich

Things Ive done but will try again,

Plugs

Coilpacks

Ignitor

Can dead AMF's or o2 sensors do this?

Does anybody have other suggestions, im unfamiliar with RB26's

Thanks in advance

atmo bov? might be causing it, that would be the most obvious thing if you have one

if your car has a stock ECU try resetting it, might help

Standard BOV and ECU has been reset a number of times

Check all pipes, you might have blown a intercooler pipe off.

Been over all of them.

should try a known working afm?

Wish I could get my hands on some easily. Would faulty AFM's fit the problem?

Really need a consult device plugged in, should be getting about 1v at idle on each AFM.. I can't see O2 sensors as the culprit, as the ECU runs closed loop while the engine is warming up.

Could be a intake manifold leak, If you have a spray that is alcohol based like brake cleaner or aerostart (WD40 should be suitable too) just spray it around the throttle body gaskets and the intake manifold gasket, if the engine responds then you've got a leak there.

How long have you had the car? and when did this start happening, was it something you did mechanically or someone that developed on its own?

AFM Voltage varies from 1-1.7V as revs quickly change from 950rpm to about 1800rpm. The AFM voltage is not stable at all and is all over the place.

I gave it a spray and I swear it did it once, but hard to tell if it was just the car reving on its own or actually sucking in through a leak.

Ran and drove the car in Japan, idled fine no real issues. Got it home and its been doing it ever since

Took the AFMs out and gave them a good clean with come AFM cleaner. Car has come slightly better and now idles on its own (just), it was defiantly part of the problem, but still hunts revs from about 1800rpm down to 950rpm but doesnt stall. It does this like clock work, consistently up and down.

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
