Goodluck finding a rear Skyline garnish. Rare as all f**k. If you do find one, it's probably broken. I'm also assuming you're talking about the LED one? That lights up the word SKYLINE on your boot?

they're not that rare; i'd say i've seen at least five for sale in the last few months in various places. but whether there are any clips (or whatever fastens them to the car) that actually arent broken is probably uncommon.

The illuminating ones look shithouse

who knows,

my car isnt streeted all the time so there isn't much chance of getting a flat anyways but if i got one well , probs just call a mate ;)

I dont have a wheel or jack either - no need in a city when you're an RAA plus member - free towing woot

-D

My 2c

finding rims in 4 stud is a b***h, stick with the 1's u have and save for a turbo r32, r33, r34, thats what i'm doing =D.

If you really want to have the 'skyline' garnish lit up have a look in the DIY section there are a few walkthroughs on how to make on yourself using S1 garnish, LED's and some paint.

Also WTF 6" tip, mine has a 3inch tip and thats pushing it for a NA.

As for mods possibly look for some coilovers, as nothing u do is going to do much for power, so you might as well try and make it quicker through the corners. I'll have to agree with reducing weight tho, first thing i would do is get rid of HICAS, should save about 30-40kg.

Good job getting rid of the tail lights tho they look crap.

*end rant*

Hi everyone...

Hi. Welcome to SAU.

I just recently purchased a 33 non-turbo..

Good work. Enjoy.

white mostly stock

Fair enough.

it came with the vertex sides and rear..

Mmmm.

eres a few pics of what it looked like when i purchased it

Ok.

i cant complain cuz i got it prety cheap and i had to keep the rents happy by buying a non-turbo before everyone pays me out lol

No worries. I won't.

I hated the look of it so i bought new stock tail lights, s1 stock rear bar, m-spec sides and a 6 inch cannon with 5 inch outlet..

Good decision except the over sized cannon. I imagine it will drone big time.

Insides immaculate cant complain

Sweet.

I just have a few problems and things i wana ask

Shoot.

firstly

what can i do to add more power to it... its just got a pod filter, air meter and strut brace..??

None of the above. Save your money and just learn how to drive it properly first. You can always sell it at a later date and get a turbo when your olds are happy that you have more experience and better skills.

what else do you guys personally think i should add to the exterior to add some more style in it??

Personal choice but have a look at TypeVu's R33. Best non-GTR R33 I've seen. Nice clean lines and tough look without going over-the-top.

i was thinking illuminous skyline garnish but i cant find any around.. would anyone have a clue where to fine them??

I wouldn't bother but Yahoo Japan might be your best bet.

would anyone suggest putting an m-spec front??

Most people here have already so I'll just let you decide.

any suggestions will be accepted

also if anyone interested in buying a vertex side and rear bodykit let me know.. the rear and sides have a few scratched

We have a 'For Sale' thread in SA plus a 'For Sale' board within the forum. Use both of these to sell goods. Clean the items first, take pictures & ask a fair price. Make sure you provide a contact number and list what state you're in on the main board.

and im also selling r33 Chrome tail lights.. which i will add a pic of.. there in mint condition

heres some pics of it after i took of the sides..(I still need to take the rear and tail lights off)...

LOOKING FORWARD TO HEARING WHAT PEOPLE HAVE TO SAY

A lot of people on SAU are (I'm guessing) a bit older than you and don't have to take the 'rents' views into consideration. People on SAU will tell you exactly what they think with little consideration as to what affect it may have on you... but you did ask for their opinions so I hope that you are not offended by ones that you don't like/agree with. I hope you haven't been shot down too harshly so far.

FWIW the best way to make your car go faster would be to improve your driving skills. This will make every car you drive from now on faster and will save you $, time and maybe one day your life. I would suggest starting with a defensive driving course. Recently we had an Introductory Performance Driving Course held at Mallala. The High Performance course will be held late November. These training days + attending track days will give you a chance to push your car in a safe environment where there is a margin for error. Nothing can replace experience and training.

ahah thxx everyone for your helpp

im gonna probss get an m-spec front and sides..

change over the rimss..

get rid of that effed up rear bar and lights..

nahh i never asked them ahah

it was either get a turbo and get kiked out of home lol or get a non-turbo for a year and get rid of it and move onto a turbo..

yee ill chek out the DIY garnish leds for the rear s1...

THANKS EVERYONE YOUR ALL CHAMPSS..

would anyone reccommened any special waxes of any type??

cheersss

would anyone reccommened any special waxes of any type??

cheersss

i use Garnier, but its up to you.

If you are only gonna keep the car for a year, seriously, dont bother doing anything do it, save as much as you can and get a nice R33 GTS-T

yee thats what i was thinkingg

at the moment i just want to bring it back to stock form

and then adding keeping it for the mean while

and buying a nice 33

cheerss for the help

im going now actually lol to change over the rear bar..

i got stock lights and a stock 33 rear bar..

see how it lookss

let you know and take new fotos

it will look like a new car without the gay shit on the bak loll

cheerss

Your funnys lately are approximately 2 out of 5 stars worthy

f**kin im just tryin to make f**kin people f**kin laugh, theres no f**kin reason to f**kin rate me that f**kin low.

yo Domenic ,

do what i did , rep the N/A for a bit then get a turbo one.

if you need a hand with anything youve got my msn and you know im more then willing to help ya out as discussed on msn with parts n stuff :D

f**kin im just tryin to make f**kin people f**kin laugh, theres no f**kin reason to f**kin rate me that f**kin low.

Mr. Scandy, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Okay, a simple "wrong" would've done just fine.

no, its just a cult classic always in the back of my head

i think you should fix every lil thing on it so its perfect then sell it cheap to me in a yrs time. id like a better daily :D

    • I know why it happened and I’m embarrassed to say but I was testing the polarity of one of the led bulb to see which side was positive with a 12v battery and that’s when it decided to fry hoping I didn’t damage anything else
    • I came here to note that is a zener diode too base on the info there. Based on that, I'd also be suspicious that replacing it, and it's likely to do the same. A lot of use cases will see it used as either voltage protection, or to create a cheap but relatively stable fixed voltage supply. That would mean it has seen more voltage than it should, and has gone into voltage melt down. If there is something else in the circuit dumping out higher than it should voltages, that needs to be found too. It's quite likely they're trying to use the Zener to limit the voltage that is hitting through to the transistor beside it, so what ever goes to the zener is likely a signal, and they're using the transistor in that circuit to amplify it. Especially as it seems they've also got a capacitor across the zener. Looks like there is meant to be something "noisy" to that zener, and what ever it was, had a melt down. Looking at that picture, it also looks like there's some solder joints that really need redoing, and it might be worth having the whole board properly inspected.  Unfortunately, without being able to stick a multimeter on it, and start tracing it all out, I'm pretty much at a loss now to help. I don't even believe I have a climate control board from an R33 around here to pull apart and see if any of the circuit appears similar to give some ideas.
    • Nah - but you won't find anything on dismantling the seats in any such thing anyway.
    • Could be. Could also be that they sit around broken more. To be fair, you almost never see one driving around. I see more R chassis GTRs than the Renault ones.
    • Yeah. Nah. This is why I said My bold for my double emphasis. We're not talking about cars tuned to the edge of det here. We're talking about normal cars. Flame propagation speed and the amount of energy required to ignite the fuel are not significant factors when running at 1500-4000 rpm, and medium to light loads, like nearly every car on the road (except twin cab utes which are driven at 6k and 100% load all the time). There is no shortage of ignition energy available in any petrol engine. If there was, we'd all be in deep shit. The calorific value, on a volume basis, is significantly different, between 98 and 91, and that turns up immediately in consumption numbers. You can see the signal easily if you control for the other variables well enough, and/or collect enough stats. As to not seeing any benefit - we had a couple of EF and EL Falcons in the company fleet back in the late 90s and early 2000s. The EEC IV ECU in those things was particularly good at adding in timing as soon as knock headroom improved, which typically came from putting in some 95 or 98. The responsiveness and power improved noticeably, and the fuel consumption dropped considerably, just from going to 95. Less delta from there to 98 - almost not noticeable, compared to the big differences seen between 91 and 95. Way back in the day, when supermarkets first started selling fuel from their own stations, I did thousands of km in FNQ in a small Toyota. I can't remember if it was a Starlet or an early Yaris. Anyway - the supermarket servos were bringing in cheap fuel from Indonesia, and the other servos were still using locally refined gear. The fuel consumption was typically at least 5%, often as much as 8% worse on the Indo shit, presumably because they had a lot more oxygenated component in the brew, and were probably barely meeting the octane spec. Around the same time or maybe a bit later (like 25 years ago), I could tell the difference between Shell 98 and BP 98, and typically preferred to only use Shell then because the Skyline ran so much better on it. Years later I found the realtionship between them had swapped, as a consequence of yet more refinery closures. So I've only used BP 98 since. Although, I must say that I could not fault the odd tank of United 98 that I've run. It's probably the same stuff. It is also very important to remember that these findings are often dependent on region. With most of the refineries in Oz now dead, there's less variability in local stuff, and he majority of our fuels are not even refined here any more anyway. It probably depends more on which SE Asian refinery is currently cheapest to operate.
