cams are great

BUT, if you do go down this route, grab matching spring lifters, and have the head fitted with new valve stem seats and seals, valve head guides

port and machine the head for optimal enhanced flow

with the new tomei springs, poncams, new ported/flowed head... you'll love the difference.

but then again afterwards you'll be leaning towards turbocharging your n/a r34

:P

Thanks soo they would be ok like 9.25 lift?

I think I'm going to do it.

With emanage ultimate tuned, 2.5" cat back, high flow cat, turbo injectors, turbo fuel pump and regulator, cams and valve springs.

I think I should make decent power!

I'll keep you guys updated =]

when buying new cams, the "stage" or "type" is just a marketing term. research and find out what would be best suited for what you intend on doing with the car

im guessing your putting it in a rb25?

machine work isnt really needed but recomended to take the cylinder head in to a reconditioner and get them to do a vacuum test pressure test surface grind and change valve stem seals

also get them to check that the standard valve springs will suit the cam or you may need to replace them

since the rb25 is hydrualic you wont need to do anything with the lifters, unless you convert it to solid shim lifter which the clearances will have to be set

spring base washers (or as some people call the spring seats but they are just washers) dont need replacing

guides dont need to be changed unless they have wear, if the reconditioner says they cant find the guides if they are needed, tell them to get 24 x rb26 intake guides

porting, decking, chamber matching/ grinding all extras depending on what your chasing

if you want to turbo it later all you have to do is adjust the intake cam and exhaust cam seperation and it will suit a turbo

hope that helped

the rb25 neo runs solid lifters from factory like the rb26's

The tomie type B are 260 duration by 9.15mm and are designed as a "drop in" cam so you wont need machining to fit the cams. Springs would be a nice addition if you're planning on reving the thing (which i hope you are otherwise theres no point getting the cams haha)

fair enough, (still learning myself)

though since its a shim setup you might need to check the base circle of the cam to the top of the bucket

Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
