Hi People,

Im after some advice and if it can be done for starters.

Ive got an rb26dett in a gtst and wanted to know if there was any way to make the car into an AWD. Has anyone done this before?? Where can i get it done?? Im located in melb nothern suburbs.........

The reason i dont want to go for a GTR is because the car is a 4 door and the autech is still a bit out of my league for the moment.

What do yal think?? is it possible????

Yeah didin't a gts4 four door version 32 get made if so i couldn't imagine it'd not be to hard to source if no four door then just longer tail shaft plus i've heard that the gts4 had a taller ratio in fith than the gtr, more speed the better but don't know anyone in your state, have you got jap spares or sss automotive if so they'd know where to source box, diff, cradle, cross memeber if different and the rest if so i would imagine it would be a drop and play issue due to skylines being mass produced therfore mounts and bolt holes will be in your chassie but some thing you'd wanna make sure before hand cos if it's coming from a 2 door i couldn't picure there being mounts for the box and diff, if no to mounting and accessability of parts i'd just save my time, effort and money and dupm it something with a bit more hasssle free to it a gtr shell don't go for much if you can get the right one and it would be worth your time and effort the only issue is reistering due to shells being either raced or de-registered, un- registerable; imported shells for parts ect just do backround checks

Shure it's possible... anything is possible.

It'd be very time consuming and expensive to get a workshop to do.

If you have to do it, buy a wrecked GTR, sell the engine and use all the parts/floorpan from it.

OR

Buy a GTR then cut the B pillars, c pillars and rear guards out and weld in the 4 door pillars/supports and doors??? Assuming the 4 door has the same/similar roof line to the coupe.

OR

Buy a 4wd gts-4 4 door and transplant the GTR running gear into it

OR

Don't bother and just buy better rear tread.

yes.

However, please search.

i'll help you by saying it is simply not worth the effort.

A number of people have posted up about this idea... and i say idea because whilst it sounds good and easy...

In reality it is a costly mission to achieve something that you can just go and BUY (ie, a GTR/GTS4)... and it works out cheaper.

You also need to take into account the gsensors, control boxes and a lot of other things that actually makes a GTR 4WD.

Remember its not FULL TIME 4WD like an EVO/WRX, it is all sensor/slip controlled so its not just mechanical.

Again, have a search.
