I discovered that someone has signed the back of the sun visor on the driver's side. Wondered if anyone had seen something like this before. Perhaps my car was owned by a Japanese celebrity? Image attached.

That's really funny actually...but why would a Japanese celebrity sign their own car lol? More than likely a fan who got the celebrity's autograph. Maybe it's the Japanese Peter Brock? :(

I dunno, I was just being silly. I suppose they might think they were putting their mark on the car and some lucky person might realise the provenance of the car they had just bought (i.e. me!).....Now I've written that down it does seem silly.....

Now you mention it I think it does say Peter Bwock.

Car is running great. New gearbox was perfect, as was the rebuilt driveline.

Went out with an ex touring driver Kent (don't know surname - help, Kevwrx?) who was brilliant. He took 5 seconds off my PB.

Previously i did a 1:30, one of the timed laps was 1:25.5

Super stoked. The water never ran hotter than 85 deg, oil below 90 deg. No oil surge, but this time I was running road tyres instead of semis.

Hooked again on the track!!

Great result. 1.25 on road tyres is pretty good. I did 1.25.20 on semis.....but no touring car driver tuition for me!

You runing an oil cooler? I am, and my (admittedly OEM) gauge says I'm running into the early 100s....My water temp never moves. I guess oil and water temps eventually match so if water good then oil good too.........Fingers crossed.

Gearbox brand new or re-built? Other than not having a spun bearing how do you know if you're getting oil surge?

Nice ride, I just sold my R34 GTR and got a 32. I've now owned all 3 in the last 2 years.

Its very easy to tell that only the 32 was released during Group A racing. The 34 was sensational, but the 32 is much smaller, lighter and raw. The 33 was very comfortable.

I dont mean going by the numbers, it just feels more focused, I love it.

Lotus i'm seeing exactly the same numbers as you with respect to temps. I'm guessing he has an oil cooler :) a good investment by the looks of things. Also welcome to 2x 32s in the garage, good feeling isn't it :). I feel my solution is better though :) 2x 4-doors but only one has a 26 in it :) gotta love 20s for puttering around town. Then again who am I kidding if I could have 2x 26s I would in a flash, grats!

Interesting as I've never driven a 33 or a 34 but kind of felt what you've said would be true. To me the 32 has heritage and is an engineering milestone. Mass produced, affordable contemporary rival to the Porsche 959. Quite an achievement. The fact that the basic engineering package did not change that much through all the iterations says a lot about how advanced the 32 was at launch. Anyway, each to their own, but 32s FTW.

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
