YOU f**kING BEAUTY!!!

The silvia runs!! Called up Decs from Garage 7, he's like ya gotta change these wires and it'll work. Made said changes, turned the key and sure enough that sweet, sweet RB sound filled the air...

... as well as the not so sweet sound of the loose harmonic balancer raping the timing belt cover something fierce :D

Oh well, it runs and that's a fking win in my book - now for some celebratory beers!! :(

Skids when the harmonic balancer and snapped stud in turbo is fixed

yoooouuuu motherfkr

i gotta save some more dough before i take my car to decs...

so it ran all good besides the said?

i was a little hesitant to pass on an engine that i never heard/seen running but im glad its all good.

ohhhhh, i have a white rb20 31 up the road from me, how convenient he just rumbled past

*sob*

oi Craig, whoever had this engine before you was a fuckin dumbcunt aye :(

They tried to take the harmonic balancer off or some shit, snapped 2 of the bolts and just left it. The cunt fkin wobbles all over the shop, theres a good 10mm of play. Not to mention some of the other dodgy shit we found along the way :D

Meh, we got the engine in, got it running and shit so I'm happy with me and my mates efforts, some other bastard can fix this harmonic balancer shit.

lol the bloke must've been lost as hey, some of the shit we looked at and was like 'wtf has this dude tried to do here?' :D

:(

Anyway, the shit runs, and it fires up better than it ever has thanks to me wiring up the right shit now, so fk it gonna pay someone else to do the balancer and turbo stud - cbf with that shit.

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
