I have a CF itch thats needs scratching. with the aussie dollar at the moment I am seriously looking at it and the aeromotions wing.

I seem to recall one of the Willall cars had the bonnet and boot Dry CF pieces installed.

Anyone got any feedback re the quality and fit?

Also if you have had the bootlid installed, does the construction look like it will stand up to the aeromotions wing? ie appropriate reinforcing?

bonnet is US $3300 and bootlid US $2300

also, what did they slug you for shipping?

Also thinking of the following:

G'day Mark,

I can check with Aeromotions for you on what bootlids they recommend for use with the Aeromotions wing.

Give me a call tomorrow.

I know Steve the owner of Password:JDM and have been to their factories in LA and have nothing but faith in their product. Quality and fit is great on everything I've seen. It doesn't make it into production until it's perfect.

Hi Mark,

There is a thread on NAGTROC titled "Wide Fenders / Carbon Trunk / Aeromotions S2 wing install, Bunch of pics".

http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php?sh...st&p=478182 reads ...

"bought the trunk from password:JDM and sent it to the wing guys so they could do a couple mods as you can see down the middle of the interior side of the trunk they reinforced it for high downforce loads that the wing will generate."

http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php?sh...st&p=478043 has some photos ...

  • 4 weeks later...

We have just pruchased 15k of Password JDM carbon fibre parts throught stillon.

boot

spoiler

engine covers (all of them)

bonnet

rad panel

I have found the experience disheartening. Stillon has been ok at best. cant reccommed dealing with them.

The shipping was fantastic and very well wrapped.

The carbon has a great weave but the spoiler came with heavey light scratches

boot had 'pin dents' in several areas and some rippling.

We ordered the air ducts and they had been repaired in the factory before supply to stillon!

the bonnet was offered to us damaged. we refused so is delayed because of????????? 10 weeks now!

What was the condition of the bonnet when you received it ?

we have not received it yet. it appears they had had some production issues because the first bonnet we were offered (for full price) has a defect in the weave. we have waited 6 weeks so far and it looks to be another 6 weeks from being shipped.

Bump!!!

So... Anyone able to get their hands on Password:JDM parts? They are in the US and only ship within... I tried purchasing a part (Password:JDM AeroCatch Plus Flush Mounting Plates) and get it delivered to a mate in the US although their payment method and security is as tight as Fort Knox!!! The credit card name/biller address needs to match the delivery address and all that bullshit...

Anyway, if anyone could assist in directing me to someone that can get these in that would be most appreciated!

Alternatively, anyone able to custom fab the backing plates up (I can provide dimensions if required) I'ld be keen to purchase

Cheers,

Andy

have a chat to Dusty from MVP motorsports in the US. He can get you the parts and ship them over promptly. I have purchased most of the parts for my supra from Dusty as no ones service comes close to his!

^ Thanks mate... Did you get your itch stratched in the end?

I ended up pouring my money into engine and suspension mods instead. I do have the top racing front bumper and aeromotions r2.two coming, though these are more track focused aero mods.

When you say "100% dry carbon", are the parts you are talking about made from pre-preg carbon fibre ? Or are they made using resin infusion or another manufacturing method ?

There is a detailed article here titled "What does "dry carbon" mean ?" about the different types of carbon fibre manufacturing, with videos of each production process ...
