The driver I imagine...it's not illegal to install on a street car. Drive the car on the road and it's a different story.

But a cop is getting desperate for EPA revenue if he's sitting outside RE customs with a roll of canaries waiting to pounce.

Unless you like to show off the Apexi logo on your PFC, just bolt the nissan OEM ECU faceplate onto it

most cops will be none the wiser as long as you dont have the handcontroller plugged into it

yeh someone told me u can fir the stock ecu plate on it but its a tight fit, yeh i think only the hand controller wud give it away. but wud b funny trying to unplug ur stuff and hiding it wen u get pulled over, seeing as cops see everything :)

don;t drive with a hand controller plugged in

do you tune your car while driving to have it sitting out on the dash? or plugged in at all?

The only reason you'd need a controller is to tune the car or watch the temps and stuff.

I wouldnt be surprised if something like that hapened though, the government does want that import owner's money

No they won't.

It will hurt small business.

The way it is - leaving as is. Wait till they leave, rather than be discouraging out the front :action-smiley-069:

Business gets their money, then the Gov't rapes you after it's all done with its archaic laws for money a week, month down the track.

If they cut it from the start there would be less overall.

    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.

    • I _think_ that one has a christmas tree or some other retainer spike into a hole in that panel under it. Come in under it with thin scredrivers and just pry it gently up. If you rip the ears off the retainer pin....so what? Just stick it back down after with a bit of race tape and carry on with life.
