Just wondering if this was still on cos I saw something interesting that CCG were doing on the same day.

Due to popular demand, the CCG has now come up with another Observation/Economy Run.

The run will be followed up with an Xmas BBQ.

***Observation/Economy Run Details***

Cost: $5 per vehicle

What you get: Detailed instructions to drive a course and see how observant you are while travelling around this great city of ours. Bonus points added for the more humorous answers.

There will be prizes awarded for: Best Fuel consumption, Most questions answered correctly, Most amusing answer and Worst fuel consumption (You may not want this prize - You have been warned)

Cars will be dispatched at 10 min intervals.

The cruise is based on the posted speed limits and there is no prize for getting to the end first (except maybe a couple of speeding tickets). The trip will take around 2 1/2 hours, cruise route is around 130k's and there is a BBQ at the end.

You must fill up your car before you leave the Fyshwick Servo (even if you filled the car up the day before, you will be required to do a splash and dash in front of those organising the event)

All petrol caps/flaps will be sealed to prevent unscrupulous behaviour or plain cheating. Material used for this will not harm paint in any way (we promise).

You will need to bring the following:

Pens - you never know when the only one in the car is going to stop working.

Navigator - why be alone? Besides, you need to blame someone for not reading the directions correctly.

Clip board or a hard surface - so you or your navigator can write down answers.

Money - to fill up before and after the run and for food and drink at the BBQ.

***Xmas BBQ Details***

For those unable to participate in the Observation/Economy Run, the BBQ will be at Pine Island and start from around 12pm.

Any questions can be directed to:

Is that CCG thing open to non members? Cos it sounds pretty damn cool...

Anyway, I'm up for a Christmas cruise!

Yeh, i've got no idea.

I've spoken to a few of them before. I can try and contact someone there but they would be at a disadvantage if we drive skylines there :P.

I was considering going there and taking photos.

Canberra Celica Group

they are always open to non members.. ive been to a couple of their events and they are welcoming.. but i have a toyota which might make a difference

i think the CCG idea sound cool

unfortunatley its on thr 20th and im already busy on that day

sorry to get the discussion back on topic but i vote for 20th for xmas cruise. also just so people are aware, the cotter dam rebuild started about a week ago and i think there were intending on shutting down the park/bbq area just in front of the dam. that might mean road closures, so would be good to double check the route before a final decision is made...

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
