f**k, seriously buy the bmw then. I'd be happy with that, but fuel can be shit.

Also- how the f**k is the thunder the only good hsv to get.

Maloo's and GTO's are f**king great!.

New maloo is absolute sex.

No way, new Maloo is disgusting! Does put out decent power though. Monaro's also go hard, but too much of a two door commodore for me. Thunder's go hard without that "im a rich bogan" look that comes with Maloo's

These cars have zero mystique is the problem. Maybe that's just 'cos I wasn't born and brought up here I dunno?

The only Ford I'd think about is an Escort RS Cosworth from back in the day. As for Holden? Meh they are Vauxhall back in the UK...they make company cars.

The box wont go they are running them in 8 and 9 sec cars over in the US, they are getrags, similiar to the supra 6 speeds and wayy stronger than any gtr 5 speed box that for sure. I think wayyy too people beleive the crap published in hpi etc and they dont have a clue. Its the transfer case on the early models which are known for going with big launches and higher power but you can buy a billet replacement case for under $1500au brand new and they are running 8s on them too :)

SO much bullshit info with very little actual experience on these cars im afraid. Its as bad as trying to convince the yanks the gtr is a great car also.

The motor is also stronger than a rb26 as well  the yanks reckon 600awhp is the reliable limit of the stock internal bottom end if its in good health, dont think many 26s will go near that. Thats running 10s in a 1720kg car too, so no dodgy power figures.

Granted I have 0 first hand experience just quoting what I've heard.

You can get 600hp out of a stock 1jz bottom end as well, so people say.

Just got the Soarer. Get an auto as they all are, do the conversion for like 3k and be done with it.

I would LOVE to import one of those... but would cost a bomb

I am going for an E30 325i or 325is for my next car. So I voted for the 540i BEEMER here. 4.4L V8, mmmmm :)

    • There are black hose clamps as well if you care. Plazmaman for example sells some: https://plazmaman.com/product/black-hose-clamps-premium-quality-stainless-breeze/
    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
