Well, it's back and it sure as hell looks better than ever :)

The rear bar is still to go on (Insurance not paying for the fit/paint in the end.), when that goes on (Post New Year) I will have the side strips painted. Fit and finish of both the bar and sides is excellent, a big thank you to Casanova Crash, they did a stand up job. Also waiting on the decals for the TE37's (Blue/White), should set the wheels off a bit. Interior is schmick, treated the leather after not having the car for 4 months, it came up a dream. Sound system cranks with 3 amps, 2 pairs of Type R splits and a Pioneer 12" sub, but I will be treating myself to a new Alpine Type R sub for chrissy I think :)

Car drives beautifully post service with Kidafa, new plugs, filter, oil. Disappointed that the mechanic put a new service interval placard up (+5000kms) without dropping the oil, I'm desperately hoping that the engine hasn't suffered because of it. I will be dropping the oil again within a few weeks to make sure the oil is free of sh!t.

So exterior/interior is all but done for the time being, once the engine work has been performed I will look at upgrading to 18" TE37's, but that should be about it :).

it's so f'n good to have my car back... 14 months. F that.

harts. :D

whoa, NIIICE. geez if u saw pic #1 bearing down on you in your rear-view mirror you'd be a little surprised lol looks awesome. Haven't seen the black bonnet done before either. Interesting.

Thanks guys!

Black bonnet was a compromise, wanted carbon but didn't want too much heat from the powers that be, plus the painting of the wheels was meant to be in theme, I'm stoked with with the overall result. The bonnet isn't gloss by the way, it's satin (as are the wheels) to add a bit more contrast. It was all sort of designed around a less showy (read: airbrushed, chrome wheels, neons etc etc) more serious streeter ideal. So many of my friends with S15's and the like came down on me for painting the wheels black hehe, can't wait to blow them off and explain the performance differences between TE37's and Lenso D1R's

I have an awesome pic of a white jap stagea drifting with a black bonnet/takero's kit/black wheels, i'll post it up sometime (it was 1/2 the inspiration for the bonnet turning black and overall colour scheme)

im not a fan of black bonnets, but thats not bad it kinda grows on ya. but i think u'll get just as much heat from the fuzz as u would with a carbon one. cos they will think its carbon.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
