Hi Guys,

Having broken my back this week, I have been ordered by the neurosurgeon to never again have any fun: no body surfing, jet-skiing, motorsport etc...

So I am in a position where performance modified cars are now a no-go.

Having put some thought into what I want as a daily driver (my Stagea is no longer suitable), I thought I'd put the idea out there for a swap.

If you look in the for sale section, ( http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/To...ml&hl=350gt ) you will see my V35, which was the ChargeSpeed entry in Tokyo Auto Salon '07: the car won a runner up prize in the 'sporty car' category.

Given that I can no longer even get into the car, let alone drive it, I thought I'd see if anyone with a good condition, basically stock manual Premium edition (brembo model only) 350GT coupe would be interested in a swap? I am willing to take a small financial hit if it means I can have a car that I can actually use...

I relaise this is a topic probably best put in the for sale section, but since I'm looking specifically for a V35 I thought I'd post in here.

Mods, please feel free to remove this post if it's breaking/bending the rules...

Have a good Xmas all...

Micah

Spewing dude.

If you lived in Perth and i could see the car in person i might do a swap with you...

and sorry my car don't have Brembo and it's an auto, which would be better for you since it's such a smooth ride :)

Sorry Paul: I have had 2 manual (brembo) V35s so far, and just wouldn't be able to bring myself to drive an auto... I know it's a matter of horses for courses: I am now permanently limited, but as I can still drive manual, that's what I'm chasing :)

i could be interested

i have an 03 brembo brakes the only mods are 19s c/f bonnet,c/f engine cover and c/f z tube

ust not sure if it would pass the blue slip inspection here in nsw

blue slip isn't an issue :D ...

email me at [email protected] with pics/details if you like: I have bucketloads of pics etc, and would like to discuss further... Car runs standard suspension?

My only (minor) issue is that due to my condition, I am unable to travel for at least the next 6 weeks, but that can be worked around: I have trusted friends/mechanics in Sydney who can inspect for me, and am more than willing to let someone you trust up here (Gold Coast) inspect my car...

Either way, email me, and we can see if it's going to suit...

Cheers,

Micah

bugger i got no pics on this computer ill have to take some

To be honest, the seats aren't the most comfortable (but by far the grippiest I've ever used), as they are so DEEP, but driver's side shoulder checks require you to lean forwards, and physically look back, as the mirrors are so small: it's definitely the sort of car that's suited to weekend drives...

I love the look of the car, and would be so very interested if not for the 30,000 extra kms over mine (and I'd have to swap out my plenum spacer and exhaust).

You obviously have your reasons, but why couldn't you just swap out the suspension and seats and keep the rest of the great vehicle? Surely the body bits wouldn't be affecting your back?

I'd really like to leave it as shown: it has a history in its current guise... My original intention was to enter it into the major car shows of '09, but then they went and cancelled them...

Besides, I need a daily, and it's just too attention grabbing for my taste: I have my Stagea for weekends, as it's now 95% completed and I want a neat, clean daily driver... The V35 swap is one of several optons I'm considering...

    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
