Hi all. So I've had a bit of a look around on the site and I think I've worked some stuff out. But still have a few Q's.

Q1. Does the Stag share all Suspension Arms and Bushes with the 33GTR or just some of the bushes?

Q2. I've heard that there is not much gain from fitting a new Front Swaybar so I was just gona get the rear (probs Whiteline). True/False?

Q3. I was just gona use Sydneykids Part Numbers from his Group Buy. These should still be correct shouldnt they?

I did a search of the part numbers he used on the Whiteline website and they come up so assume they will still be fine.

I'll be going into a few suspension places on the weekend and getting a few quotes etc. But I just wanted some thing to go in with. Cause as we all know their gona go "It's a What" :)

< As you can see its a RS Four S.

Thanks to all in advance.

I will let you all know what the suspension places say.

True for me. I bought the rear one and it made a huge difference. Put the front one on a few months later but I didn't notice any significant improvement. Other people's experience may be different.

Q1. Im in the same boat as you mate :) No idea

Q2. You have the stockie on? it is after all just a length of metal, I like the front one on if for nothing else but fighting the torque monster.

Get a rear one though, it makes a huge difference

RS4S has a larger rear swaybar (24mm hollow) so the upgrade to the whiteline 24mm solid bar isn't as big a jump as the auto versions. The increase in rate is something like 70% (from memory) from hollow to solid bar. It doesn't make a huge difference like on the autos.

I am having a senior moment regarding the change in front bars.

SK's part numbers should be fine, Use tein s-tech springs. I am running 24mm swaybars front and rear, feels nicely balanced, order shocks from heasmans sydney and the rest of the stuff locally, get the swaybars from SELBY as that is the company SK used to get them made by.

I upgraded my rear sway bar with a White Line item... had that flimsy 19mm hollow thing now to a 24mm solid. WORLD of difference. Handles like a Sedan

One thing I did note when ordering, ALL GTR bars are the same. If you check BOTH Selby and White Line sites ALL the GTRs have the same part numbers/options. I also cross referenced the Stagea listing on the Selby site, same numbers!

For what ever reason why some one would, you could bolt up a solid 27mm item. As the Skylines also share

the same design as their GTS / GTT counter parts.

front and rear bars made a huge difference for me but I've got a S1 Auto. You don't even have to really replace the springs straight away if you don't want to. The standard rates are quite good as it is and a little more comfortable as well. Depends if you planning on lowering it a lot or just a bit. You can still lower the car with the stock springs as your moving the lower spring seat. Order the bilsteins from heasmans and get them to machine extra circlip grooves in so you have some more height settings to play with, get the bushes from whiteline and and bars from selby. You should be able to order all the parts yourself and then just take them into which ever shop you choose to install the gear for you. But if you do plan on changin the springs as someone else said the tein s-tech springs seem to be quite popular. Might be quicker than getting whiteline to make some up.

Hey Guys probs should have said that I already have full adjustable coilovers all round. Its already lowered and quite a hard ride. So i'm only lookin at gettin bushes and swaybar. Hopfully if putting a new rear bar on it will stiffen up the rear enough so i can soften the suspension up a tad.

Out of interest, what Coilovers are you running?

Im running 'Super Flex Wagon by Tien' direct out of Japan (not Aus specs) with 6kg springs.

I personally wasnt very impressed, but the new rear sway bar brought the bar up that much

more to make me satisfied. Although, I wouldnt mind it a little bit stiffer :D

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
