Yeah I know and I'm saying in a mutual way that FFXIII runs the same on both platforms.

You just get two more discs on the 360 version, there is no difference in performance.

oh wow, i'm going to get the xbox version cause it must be better value if you get 3 discs for the price of 1 sony one, LOL

It's exactly the same other than the Xbox version has 3 discs and the PS3 is only one disc as it is blueray.

On the Xbox version you go through disc 1 and 2 in about 15 hours then its all on disc 3.

I was told it downloads the cut scenes onto the hard drive from discs 1 and 2 to make the game smoother.

Though you never actually see any downloading. I have a 360 and a PS3, like them both in different ways...

It's like a blond chick and a brunette chick, they both deliver the goods but in different ways.

Sometimes you just feel you need a blond that night but then you want some brunette after, so on and so on...

It's all personal taste and opinions, just have the best of both worlds I say

I think you missunderstood me.

FF13 was created on the playstation engine (originally was started on the PS2 engine then moved to the PS3 engine). The PS3 runs the true uncompressed video and audio on a 50GB Bluray disc (most PS3 games run the old 25GB Bluray disc) while the xbox has compressed audio and video so it could fit on three discs as the uncompressed version wouldn't fit on three discs.

Also PS3 runs it in 720p and the xbox runs it in 576p however both can be upscaled to 1080p.

Not trying to argue the point if the PS3 one is better, as it is a bee's dick in difference to most people, however just saying, FF13 was created with the PS3 in mind, i've was following the development of the game for a while last year.

From all accounts I have seen, the PS3 version is said to look much better. It has a considerably higher native resolution (720p compared to 576). Though I haven't played either, just going by what people are saying.

The game is a bit of a disappointment compared to previous releases. It might not be so bad for players new to the series though.

Characters are great, visuals as always push the PS3 to its limit’s, the detailed menu’s/”datalogit” and character status are well laid out and easy to read (best of the FF series IMO) and storyline is well, ok. As for gameplay, I feel it lacks a lot compared to its predecessors. FF12 battle system shits all over this one and as for character building eh, average.

You are right.

But when there both running at 1080p like you said, it's a bee's dick difference in FFXIII case.

Now if FFXIII had double the loading times and had performance issues for the 360 compared to the PS3 then that would be a problem.

There are many games out there that perform better on different platforms but damn I cbf to get into that haha

Anyway enough of this NERD conversation... My work is almost done, cant wait to get out this hell hole.

Yeah I heard about PS3 Versus, looks like there will be more extra content on the PS3.

bout half way through the 5th ark, 25 hours game time, had all my characters clocked for their 3 base abilities well before the fight with barthalandus (sp).

still somewhat annoyed at how ridiculously linear it is. made me rage pretty hard a few times.

being able to level up weapons and equipment is an interesting touch.

paradigm shifts, eidolons, chaining attacks and the ability to freely swap and change party leaders is pretty awesome. i also love how stupid tough some enemies are if you dont stagger them or are using the wrong paradigm.

im assuming ill end up on gran pulse for some free roaming pretty soon. hope so at least.

all in all, its alright, but the ff series has been a bit iffy since square enix.

vii rocked, i still play it to this day. viii sorta sucked, but the bosses were interesting, ix i thought was f**king brilliant, treasure hunting with the chocobo was an easy way to kill hours at a time. x was alright, finished it a few times, x-2 i got maybe half way through before i wrote it off as a failure, didnt play xi, and xii i completely clocked 3 times now. f**king brilliant.

2 of my biggest pet peeves (save for the linearity) are both to do with the combat system. party leader dies and its game over. cant revive them. they die, youre f**ked. and the way the 2 other party members act automatically. im so used to being able to control what each party member does. makes some encounters simply too easy.

You wont be saying its to easy once you get to A class hunting missions that's for sure haha

If your at the ark your one step away from free roam grand pulse!

Finished the game, now im just doing all the "A class" side quests and getting ultimate weapons.

    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
