I am a soldier in the US Army and i have been stationed in landstuhl, germany. I bought a 1994 Skyline GTS-T Impul edition sedan from an older local german. The problem the car is having is when the revs reach 4700rpm under acceration (autobahn ) the car feels like it hits a wall, like rev limiter, but if i ease off and accerate slowly with no boost it will break through the 4700 rpm mark just fine.

It seems to me the only time it hits that wall is under moderate acceleration when boost is up. The things on my list to do are ngk plugs, fuel filter, and spaying the mass air flow meter with some brake cleaner. I've ran a tank of fuel with stp fuel injecter cleaner through it since i knew it had been sitting for 6 months but what else should i do? How can i accerlate moderately without hitting that wall at 4700 rpm?

What boost is it running?

If u keep your foot down does it seem like it gets back power at about 6000rpm?

full stock, about 5 psi the only aftermarket is a downpipe back jasma exhaust and a tune job RAZO(who knows)

After 4700 rpm anything more than a granny foot the car starts stuttering

OK if its only 5psi it shouldn't be "rich and retard"

Stock ecu i presume?

U can check all those u listed above and try and get some good fuel in it and reset the ecu

the ecu, i have no idea, it was originally tweaked by impul, then tweaked again by a german tuning company called RAZO, right now its running 105 US octane rating

all gears, but not in neutral, it would make sense it being the fuel filter or fuel pump, its been sitting for a while, my manuel is in japanese so maybe you can help me out on this one, Where is the fuel filter? the only one i ever replaced was in the tank and i could gain access to it thru the trunk, I'm guessing its an inline filter under the hood to the left of the intake manifold but i cant tell, it could also be a regulator of some sort.

Follow the fuel lines back from the fuel rail. The filter should be in the engine bay.

Dunno what side drive you have but it should still be on the intake side regardless.

It's small like a can of beans

    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
