Auto Gearstick Stuck

Hey Guys,

i hope this is the right section to post in but i have an issue with my r33 , most mornings when i try to start my car, my automatic gear lever is stuck... i press the brake in and it just doesnt click so you can press the button in to move down into drive.... after alot of trys it eventually moves.

ive opened it and up and tried cleaning it maybe something was stuck but yeah didnt do anything. Its a little strange because if i get in and dont turn the car on but press the button on the gear stick lever it will click in and then i start the car no worries, but if i start the car and press the brake as u normally would it most times locks it, becoming quite frustrating especially when people r in the car, any ideas on what it could be?
