I did email today tonight.

I dont expect they will help the guy out, but, they might make ACA look very shoddy, unprofessional and sly.

Which, TT and ACA seem to like doing to each other.

While I didn't watch today tonight, I heard their promo for tonight on the way home...

How TopGear is promoting hoon driving

Edit: Just checked the site, the video is there, and yes they used the audition footage.

rocklee if you think ACA has a SHRED of journalistic credibility you're a fool. This isn't an emotional debate, don't turn it into one.

No, you're missing the point completely, and its your emotional bondage towards ACA that makes you think this is all blown out of proportion.

Reread my post and that article. It is merely pointing out that it is an edited video TAKEN OUT OF ITS ORIGINAL CONTEXT and uploaded by TOP GEAR AUSTRALIA. Therefore without further investigation who was to know that it wasn't a cordoned off section of road? Surely Top Gear Aus wouldn't upload a video which they knew to be promoting illegal road behaviour.

You are a complete TV idiot.

The driver was wrong, the driving was wrong, the location was wrong. There is nothing right about any of it at all. I can't believe some homo ramapiticous still think any of it could be justified whatsoever.

There was, at least he left his number plates on the car, so EPA or the popo's can catch up with him :)

lol @ Andrew Bolt comments.

At least the guy has the balls to say what the rest of the mainsteam media refuse.

They mainstream media will not/have not reported correctly on...

1. Climate change

2. The "stolen generation"

3. Hoon laws

4. Realistic reasons for "apparent" racial bashings

As just 4 recent topics, there are plenty more. Not one news paper or media outlet in Australia has reported anything other than lies and infactual bullshit about all of those topics.

At least the US news is getting stuck right into the bullshit that is climate change @ their Gov't.

quoted for truth.

those getting stuck into Andrew Bolt, how about you stop playing the party line of 'oh Bolt is a racist hard-right wanker' and actually point out calmly and intelligently, where you see this occurring in his articles. then we can go at it :P

The Victorian Government’s proposed three-step anti-hoon agenda is this: For a first offence, the so-called hoon’s car is impounded for 30 days.

I think it's absurd that from an opinion, not a definition, that a car can be taken off somebody for 30 days. Not to mention what happens on your 2nd and 3rd strikes. When I had my car impounded, there was what was really happening, and what the police officer wanted to assume was happening, and of course he assumed the worst to make his little sheet of paper with all the criminals and potential killers on it look better at the end of the night. They have no reguard for your input, side of the story. They just stick to what they "see" no matter how redicilous and stupid it may be.

How do I have emotional bondage towards ACA? I loathe and detest muckracking sensationalist journalism that plays on the masses who are too slack or dumb to think critically about the "news" they are spoonfed on a daily basis, and then people quoting or adopting viewpoints presented by these sources without any independent thought process on their own.

I like how you try and make out like it's all so clear cut and down the line without and further analysis or research of the situation. You surely are the prime audience for these kind of TV shows.

I noticed how they didn't even have any real follow up on it last night apart from to do their usual attempt at ambushing the "guilty party" at their workplace, attempting to catch them off guard to trip themselves up, react with anger at having cameras and questions barked at them like they were on trial or attempt to flee after recognising that no matter what you say to these people it is edited so that you cannot win. You would also think that if they were seriously intent on just getting this guy into trouble for his alleged illegal activities they would have just forwarded the video and his plates to the police rather than try to generate drama with it.

I will be interested to see whether Media Watch has anything to say about it.

Whilst I agree with conservative attitudes about aboriginals (as does every white who has to live near them), the majority of his articles come off for lack of a better word as 'trolling'. Virtually nobody took John Laws seriously, but this guy gets people either whipped up against him of valiantly defending his "viewpoints". He's about as sincere as Kevin Rudd (ie not very).

He is a reporter, i don't want him to be sincere - only truthful and factual. Bolt - is exactly that.

I get the feeling he is very particular of ensuring his facts/evidence for articles is very well researched, i've never seen someone products info to say otherwise.

you dont know it wasnt blocked off at all your simply assuming. and the car has been sold and is track only for well over a year.. so shut up about the epa would ya's.

i cant believe this is a car forum some days soo much whinging and sulking when a guy gives his car some stick whether its this thread or another soo precious and concerned how people will think of you and your hover craft stock skylines (for the most part) get over yourselves, this guy got rolled hard by the media didnt do anything worse then i see on a weekly basis that you cannot stop unless government gets real and provides adequate facilities for this stuff to be moved off the street.

i for one think it wasnt a controlled enviroment but niether you or i can prove it so dont make assumptions and stay off ya high horse.

hoon laws are a fkn joke and go against the trend of every other law you are punished first and tried second! its a joke should be un constitutional.

how is he truthful and factual? The way he carries on just sounds like your usual opinion pieces to me, and usually read like I said before, deliberate attempts at trolling.

You've clearly never read and paid attention to the decent articles have you?

If i get time over the next couple days ill dig them up.

i suspect that very few Bolt critics have actually bothered to read his articles, as it's simply far easier for them to smear him without making the effort to find out what he's about.

ACA is quite obviously journalism at its worst, and should not even be mentioned in the same breath.

he's not that high profile lol

o rly?

http://blogpond.com.au/top-100-australian-blogs-index/

this was last updated in April 2009, before all the Climategate and Copenhagen sagas.

he also peaked at #28 on the technorati list around November last year (a worldwide compilation)

I've yet to see a 'decent' article but feel free to post some up, do you happen to watch ACA out of a matter of interest? :)

I only use my TV for Movies/Downloaded TV series.

It's not even connected to the antenna (because it doesnt work lol), so no free to air for me ever. Can't say i ever miss it really.

True true.

haha ash you nerd, though i admit I almost never watch tv at home, only at the gf's house due to lack of internets or gaming consoles lol. Also after downloading tv eps and watching box sets I find that I just don't really have the patience to sit through the ads.

Like I said in the other thread about this, TT just used it as an excuse to bash Top Gear the tv show ( I was thinking LOL maybe they should ban it like 'hoon' car ads).

from what i saw tonight, alot of dickheads will be without a car by the morning.

basically i just went for a massive drive, down princess to chapel, down chapel to nepean , not the fully sick way.

then made my way to Hampton park (check up on womans house)

then down to the glen, then back down to keysborough, then to maccers to get food. now home. all this in order to get the car to chuck up a fault about the gearbox, got a scanner hooked up, waste of time, and fuel no fault.

but anyway, Cops were all over the joint, Holden's seemed to take the cake with 5 pulled over, 1 on all stockies and dumped had two cop cars next to it. 1 idiot leaving Keysborough maccers, thought it be a smart idea to dump the clutch once out of the drive way and snake his ute up the street, bang cop car came out of no were. would like to know his excuse haha.

a rx3 (purple) pulled over just before Princess Kebabs no bonnet up just all standing around having a chat.

another holden pulled over in a side street near noble park maccers, and from what i could work out a green P driving a mazda 6 was going to be next, squirting his car past me and backing off trying to get me go, but i use my mirror and could see a cop up my ass, but i had to turn off, so hopefully that dick got pulled over also.

its amazing how many idiots are out there still doing stupid shit with out even thinking that they will wake up tomorrow with out a car and a fine and a court date. Or slam into a pole or tree and not wake up at all.

saw about 5skylines and another stagea, couple s14's few wrx's all on their best behavior.

    • Power is fed to the ECU when the ignition switch is switched to IGN, at terminal 58. That same wire also connects to the ECCS relay to provide both the coil power and the contact side. When the ECU sees power at 58 it switches 16 to earth, which pulls the ECCS relay on, which feeds main power into the ECU and also to a bunch of other things. None of this is directly involved in the fuel pump - it just has to happen first. The ECU will pull terminal 18 to earth when it wants the fuel pump to run. This allows the fuel pump relay to pull in, which switches power on into the rest of the fuel pump control equipment. The fuel pump control regulator is controlled from terminal 104 on the ECU and is switched high or low depending on whether the ECU thinks the pump needs to run high or low. (I don't know which way around that is, and it really doesn't matter right now). The fuel pump control reg is really just a resistor that controls how the power through the pump goes to earth. Either straight to earth, or via the resistor. This part doesn't matter much to us today. The power to the fuel pump relay comes from one of the switched wires from the IGN switch and fusebox that is not shown off to the left of this page. That power runs the fuel pump relay coil and a number of other engine peripherals. Those peripherals don't really matter. All that matters is that there should be power available at the relay when the key is in the right position. At least - I think it's switched. If it's not switched, then power will be there all the time. Either way, if you don't have power there when you need it (ie, key on) then it won't work. The input-output switching side of the relay gains its power from a line similar (but not the same as) the one that feeds the ECU. SO I presume that is switched. Again, if there is not power there when you need it, then you have to look upstream. And... the upshot of all that? There is no "ground" at the fuel pump relay. Where you say: and say that pin 1 Black/Pink is ground, that is not true. The ECU trigger is AF73, is black/pink, and is the "ground". When the ECU says it is. The Blue/White wire is the "constant" 12V to power the relay's coil. And when I say "constant", I mean it may well only be on when the key is on. As I said above. So, when the ECU says not to be running the pump (which is any time after about 3s of switching on, with no crank signal or engine speed yet), then you should see 12V at both 1 and 2. Because the 12V will be all the way up to the ECU terminal 18, waiting to be switched to ground. When the ECU switches the fuel pump on, then AF73 should go to ~0V, having been switched to ground and the voltage drop now occurring over the relay coil. 3 & 5 are easy. 5 is the other "constant" 12V, that may or may not be constant but will very much want to be there when the key is on. Same as above. 3 goes to the pump. There should never be 12V visible at 3 unless the relay is pulled in. As to where the immobiliser might have been spliced into all this.... It will either have to be on wire AF70 or AF71, whichever is most accessible near the alarm. Given that all those wires run from the engine bay fusebox or the ECU, via the driver's area to the rear of the car, it could really be either. AF70 will be the same colour from the appropriate fuse all the way to the pump. If it has been cut and is dangling, you should be able to see that  in that area somewhere. Same with AF71.   You really should be able to force the pump to run. Just jump 12V onto AF72 and it should go. That will prove that the pump itself is willing to go along with you when you sort out the upstream. You really should be able to force the fuel pump relay on. Just short AF73 to earth when the key is on. If the pump runs, then the relay is fine, and all the power up to both inputs on the relay is fine. If it doesn't run (and given that you checked the relay itself actually works) then one or both of AF70 and AF71 are not bringing power to the game.
    • @PranK can you elaborate further on the Colorlock Dye? The website has a lot of options. I'm sure you've done all the research. I have old genuine leather seats that I have bought various refurbing creams and such, but never a dye. Any info on how long it lasts? Does it wash out? Is it a hassle? What product do I actually need? Am I just buying this kit and following the steps the page advises or something else? https://www.colourlockaustralia.com.au/colourlock-leather-repair-kit-dye.html
    • These going to fit over the big brakes? I'd be reeeeeeeeaaaall hesitant to believe so.
    • The leather work properly stunned me. Again, I am thankful that the leather was in such good condition. I'm not sure what the indent is at the top of the passenger seat. Like somebody was sitting in it with a golf ball between their shoulders. The wheels are more grey than silver now and missing a lot of gloss.  Here's one with nice silver wheels.
    • It's amazing how well the works on the leather seats. Looks mint. Looking forward to see how you go with the wheels. They do suit the car! Gutter rash is easy to fix, but I'm curious about getting the colour done.
