I use to own the white skyline with gold wheels and carbon bonnent that is now in launny. I'd like the see the dyno sheet for it. It made 242kw at wheels with only 12psi so it could make close to 300 with more boost. The car doesn't get the power to the ground though.

Was bored tonight after a few drinks and did some searching for my car and its previous owners.

Its funny how way back then 300kw was a big deal. lol

For everyone that new this car and the old 25 way back then.. When it finally did die after lots of abuse we pulled the engine down to check it out.

With the setup I bought it with and running haltech E11v2 it made 300rwkw @ 17psi. It stayed like that for a while then the same engine with twin T3/T4 turbos and 1000cc injectors made 399rwkw and was very very laggy. lol

Anyway, the engine stripped down we found it had Tomei pistons, Tomei 256 inlet and 264 Exhaust cams, Tomei springs, metal headgasket and everything else was stock.

So the poor old 25 put up a good fight before it burnt no.6 piston and lost compression. It still drove with a slight gurgle at idle and still smoked the tyres in 3rd gear.

Its had a few big changes since back then, Now has a built 26/30, Garrett T51r, soon to have 1600cc injectors, 175hp nos kit and C4 auto. Will be tuned in a few weeks once I get it all sorted and back together again

Ha ha ha ha...

I remember going for a lash in it with Andrew (the origional owner) the day it rolled off the boat. It pushed 240 odd rwkw later that week. It was fast back then.... especially compared to my r31 gts-x coupe!!!

Ahh.. the good old days.

We allways wondered what was under that head....

Yeah funny how times change, I was with Matt when he first took you and you girl friend for a ride in it from the silver dome I remember the look on your face, you loved it as did every one that went for a ride in it at the time, what stood out was the sound of it, the screamer pipe was like nothing else any one had ever heard before and it was dyno’d in Melbourne at Race Pace- Ice with old owner Andrew or the importer did? and now is Matts Mechanic for his GTR and only found out as he was telling him about his old cars lol small world

Sure is a small world. So hows things going with Matts GTR...?

Im just waiting to get parts back now and get the old girl up and running again.

Cant wait to drive it again with a angry tune and a big shot of nos...

I guess I will be testing that out at powercruise or the drags when it opens again...

yeah he still got the GTR, its nearly been 2 years since it was last running lol got a full cage put in it about a year ago, and only just took it to Kuzzie’s a couple of weeks ago to have it put back together just chasing up a couple little parts, it's got a whole new motor and turbo’s and new suspension and 8 pot APracing brakes. Matts hoping to take it to Melbourne in a few weeks to Race Pace to have it tuned and other new bits put on. He still keen to take it up the drags and stuff but it’s now built for tarmac rally's and has entered in Targa Wrest Point and the Rookie Targa next year, I’m going to be navigating for Matt its gunna be awesome fun.

I can’t wait to see your old best at the drags again and in the burn out comp, it will be great to see a import with big power at the drags!

    • So, this shouldn't be such a mission, but there were a few tricks so I thought I'd post up a DIY for it. This was on a Q50 Red Sport but I doubt any other V37 model is very different (maybe just less steps for the intake heat exchanger hoses) I pulled the radiator out to flush it because the car was running hot at the track, but obviously the same steps apply for changing a radiator for any reason including an upgrade. If you are removing the radiator, you of course need to drain and refill, so have 5+ litres of blue coolant ready. You don't need to drain the intake heat exchanger to remove the radiator but depending on your plans you may need a couple of litres for that as well. You will also need something to deal with the auto transmission lines, I used 2x 8mm rubber caps on the radiator side, and a short length of 8mm pipe on the car side.....unless you can block these lines quickly you will loose AT fluid and it may be enough to hurt the transmission if you don't refill it. Other than that....lets go... "First, jack up your car". Yes really, and put it safely on stands. If you are not confident doing that you need to give this job to a mechanic
    • If the forester is anything like our old 2007 GTB Liberty, I could near on run ling Long's and "rate them", as no matter what, it just hung to the road, even when abusing it in a hard launch in the wet, or throwing it at corners.
    • LOL, all of the CAI like Craig I just need to put a hole saw through my bumper Done and dusted, the car runs, which is nice, I'll take it for a spin when the weather clears up Just need to put the bumper back on for good
    • Brooooo Please send ABS control unit schematic Please! R33 gts25t ABS (Its two plug ecu, black and white) wire colors possible? [email protected]
    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
