Hey guys,

I was in the process of ripping out my old loom when I realized my new one doesn't have abs. I called up the place I bought the engine from (JIS) and they told me they don’t have any other loom to exchange it with.

I know many people disengage their abs for track use however the way I see it is that I’m going to be running a turbo engine on non turbo brakes for a while, that’s already bad enough as it is. Is it a big risk not having abs? Should I go to another wrecker and see if I can swap my loom? Your opinions? Thanks Guys

i dont have any locking up issues but i have 275 tyres all round so that helps a fair bit.

if you prone to panicking when it locks on ya though abs is a wonderful invention for ya :ermm:

personally having come from your situation i would chase the loom with ABS what series engine do you have i have 2 looms 1 for S1 and one S2 and haven't decided which one im using yet

i haven't looked to see if the S2 one even has ABS as i've only just got it

but by the sounds of things your only at the beginning of the engine swap

i honestly dont know but here is a rule of thumb that i would use is part knowledge part guess work

If coilpacks are the same from the rb25de to det then i would say that there is a slight chance you can use a de loom, only problem i for see is the factory boost controller that no one uses personally he should either ring Shaun from boostworx or Brett west from graham west workshop and see what they have to say

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
