Hi everyone,

I have been posting a little on here over the past week but thought I should formally introduce myself.

I'm Ryan, just bought a nice Autech 260RS. Used to be owned by Ben & Janenen whom some if not all of you may know. Owned it now for a week and absolutely love it.

My background is mainly Toyota, I still own a modified GZ20 Soarer with 1JZ swap and more mods than I can poke a stick at, but decided I wanted a nice daily, and hoping the modifying bug wont bite my bum to hard with this car ;)

I'm attending the All Japan Day at Glenelg this weekend, and also will make it out to the Stagea cruise/meet on the 7th of March. Looking forward to meeting you all. I'm down at West Beach and tend to lose to battle of fighting the urge to go for a random drive around hehe, so feel free to say hi etc etc. I think I was on here for about 3 days and already had a PM to sell me some parts haha, no complaining :) From what I've read so far in this Stag corner of SAU, you all seem really nice and hepful, and plan on spongeing info from many of you :D hehe.

Plans for the 260? It has a 3" catback... and um... thats it I think lol.

So more than likely I will weld up a set of front pipes, get an intake kit, and maybe a few other goodies here and there.

Maybe in years to come as the engine tires I may rebuild it, and swap the twins for some GTRS items or maybe just steel wheel rebuild.

Thats about it really I think. So ciao for now :)

Ryan

hey there... have known this car from day dot with ben!!! very very nice

trust me the bug will hit sooner or later! the suspension in that things already very very good!! but if u got a glimps at his black 260 youve got no chance of staying stock :)

Hehe cheers guys. Yeah I took it for a drive to see what they were like and to contemplate an RS4, .... FAIL. Bought the bloody thing haha.

Very happy with it though. As for the mod bug, im going to need some good aeroguard, I went crazy on my soarer modding nearly everything. So fingerscrossed I am sensible with this one, need it to be a reliable daily, not a project to be up on stands for 12 months haha

shhhh thats my plan on a s2 260rs in a few years haha, perfect package

Hahaha TJ im going to try and beat you too it... kinda.... my front end comes soon!! :) and im looking at importing a 260 soon and throwing it all in to the rs! things you do for sunroofs hey!

Welcome to the 260RS club :)

The good thing about the 260rs is if you decide you want to go berserk modding, there is almost unlimited options. I've modded mine and am running some nice killer wasps, not to mention there are plenty of after market options for kits, wheels and my favourite ...GIZMO'S!

First thing I did when I got mine was dump the front seats and replaced them with some nice R33GTR ones. Next was to dump the standard rims and grab a set of nice R34GTR rims covered with Kumho KU36 semi slicks. Next was Tomei cams and cam gears, timing belt and swapped the regular diff for a R34GTR LSD. Trust front mount intercooler, replaced the standard radiator with a nice GReddy radiator and Greddy catch can and GReddy oil cooler. Apexi ECU and a tune and she was purring like a kitten. Done a bunch of other stuff as well, too much to go into detail, just making it more to my style with bits and pieces I find around the net.

You'll not regret your purchase one bit. Fantastic vehicle. I was so impressed with it, as I originally bought mine (like yourself) as a daily run about. But after a few short weeks of driving I was SO impressed with it, I sold my R23GTR and decided the 260RS was the keeper.

If you like it now, like I did when I first got mine, wait till you do decide to mod, the car goes from WOW to OMFG!

welcome buddy

i tried the "dont catch the mod bug thing"

well what can i say,i did

now im defected!

will be sporting my sticker all japan day..

if you see me sing out and we'll have a chat

Yeah but the sticker instantly gives you 500kw extra... So it's a win...

Yeah I'll be there probably smack on 9am seeing as im just down the raod almost, and wandering around all day, so I'm sure we shall cross paths at some point. I'll more than likely be the Nissan driver wearing a Toyota shirt lmao :P

The mod bug is a bastard of a thing I know

Here's a few of my Soarer from my member thread on z20Soarer.org, as you can see, it big me hard in the backside! :(

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
