Hi Folks

I have a set of front and rear tein super street suspension for sale. Suits R32 GTR.

These are the aus spec version, so they are non adjustable but are street legal.

Teins are quite firm shocks, if you want a firm stable ride, these are definately worth going for.

$500 for the set of 4, buyer pays for delivery (or pickup in Adelaide). These retail at JustJap for $750 for a second hand pair.

PM me if interested

Hi mate,

May be interested as I'm looking at replacement suspension for an R32 GTS-4. To my knowledge GTR suspension will fit straight on as a GTS-4 requires suspension with forks not eyes. Would you be able to confirm this for me? If yes, I would definitely be VERY interested.

Cheers

P.S. As they are non adjustable, roughly how much does the suspension drop ride height from standard?

Gday mate

I'm not sure about the forks/eyes thing but I'll take some photos for you - I have been told that they wont fit on the gts-t due to the rear subframe assembly being different (apparently?), so I'm really not sure if it'll fit the gts-4

re ride height, usual eyebrow height is 350mm, these shocks take it down to 325/330mm depending on how many kebabs I've eaten that week, which is legal minimum in SA...

I've removed the fronts already, I'll take some photos tomorrow and post them up - will be a week before I take the rear teins out, but I can find a photo on google I'm sure

approx 2 to 2.5cm depending on vehicle weight. they sagged a bit after i coated the interior with dynamat..

um, Oz Spec Tein SS are height and damper adjustable. Are you sure yours are Super Streets?

Negative. Aus spec does not have height adjustable anything, considering its illegal in several states. Jp spec is height and damper adjustable

tein aus spec flex is a different story, they are intended for a track application

these are a single progressive spring coilover, non height or damper adjustable (which is what makes them aus spec)

EDIT - Sarz I'm not sure how much they weight atm, aus post can handle up to 20kg but over that its a courier. I'll be removing the rears next week and I'll post the weight of them in this thread for all to see

Great! As soon as the pics are posted up we'll have a look and if they're still available we'll see what coin is needed to ship them across to VIC :bunny:

Thanks for a quick response mate

I must apologise to you BeEnAr as I had my facts wrong

The aus spec SS's do have damper adjustable, but not height

and having inspected the shocks closer, I've found out that they are type HR

Mods, please modify my main post to indicate that these are HR coilovers - non adjustable height or damper

Sorry to the others I havent gotten photos yet as I got home after dark, but I'll definately do it on Saturday

Regards,

Hi Folks

Here are the pics of the front set - I won't have time to remove the rears until next weekend, however they were all purchased at the same time and are the same condition as the fronts. Will take photos of them once they are out.

Images left large for max detail - as you can see I haven't bothered to clean them up at all

  • 2 weeks later...

OK folks, have removed the rears finally - I will take pics tomorrow

They come out to just over 20 kilograms, which means the post isnt interested in dealing with it...

If anyones keen, please read the sticky in the For Sale thread regarding couriers - I estimate it'll cost around $90 to ship door to door from Adelaide to Sydney, not sure how much to Melbourne...

If anyones still keen on this set of struts, please PM me asap.

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
