G'day SAU

I have a problem, one of my headlights had a leaking seal - Water got in there and destroyed all the chrome in the headlight *ffs :)*

Only my drivers headlight is damaged. I own a 1992 R32 GT-R,

It is a s2 as far as I can tell as far as my center console surround is the same style as the dash (s1 had black finish surround) and thats all I can really judge on my car being a s2 over a s1 having said that, sure it'd be easy enough to put a s2 surround on but I have nothing else to go by in telling if mine is s2 so I'll go with that, and being my car is hardly molestered...

Now, being I don't want two different headlights when trying to buy a S2 headlight, what are the differences between the projector style headlights between the S1 & S2 R32 GT-R.

Can anyone shed any light on this in the way of photos or a detailed explination between the two.

I do however know there is a different between GTST & GT-R headlights as per the grill mounting clips.

Please someone help me out.

I have done a search but I didn't get the information I was looking for.

Very much appreciated,

Weezy :D

I don't think there's any difference between the series 1 and 2 headlights, its just a matter of if it's the projector style or non projector (also known at the N1 headlight).

Here is the projector headlight

And here is the N1 headlight (also released in the NA sedans for some reason)

I also think this is from an NA sedan as it doesn't have the grille mounting brackets.

Hope this helps a bit.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
