I am soon to get me P's and I am thinking about getting an R32 Skyline GTS (Non Turbo). My parents have an VT Commodore 'S' which they take me driving in, close to every day. What is the fuel consumption like for an non turbo R32 5 Speed Manual for every 100km?

Do you find parts for these easy since they are 10 years old?

RB20e

RB20de

RB25de

the rb25 is best, followed by rb20de, its twin cam you see...

in that magazine, unique cars, liek that one full of classified cars.. there is a black r32 gts, with teh RB25de for $16k i think.. i rekon you could get him down...

and i think in this forum there is a r33 gts for sale around that mark

Well if i were u id go a aussie car for the first couple of years. That way u can be safe in the knowledge that if u break it u wont be blacklisted by insurance and it will cost u less to begin with. Imports a re a pain in the ass to insure to begin with even if u dont have a turbo.

The LSD in these things can be a real unexpected kik when u least expect it and u dont want that happenin to ure shiny new 'line specially in this weather.

Over sure the N/A might look cool (cause its a 'line) but it just doesnt have the balls to back it up. After all, it was designed to be a turbo from the outset.

Why not go something lighter and quicker. If uve got the time u could lookfor a Euro hot hatch or even an Ae86 corrolla.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
