Hi all,

I'm a new member/first time poster. I'm here trying to sell my Skyline. As you can see by the title she's a 1996 R33 GTST Series II. I bought the car in Feb 07 from a dealer in Dandenong, Melbourne. Had 90k on the odo then, now has 111,000. It's only used as a weekend car as I have a company trade vehicle I use for transport during the week. As such the Skyline has done 20,000 kms in three years. I'm the first Australian owner of the car. It's garaged when not in use. I don't smoke and do not allow passengers to smoke. Very clean inside and out.

I had the 100,000 km service done by Nissan shortly after purchase. Since then it's been worked on and serviced by Nizpro Turbocharging.

Minor modifications include:

- New Garret turbo (steel). The stock ceramic turbo was replaced with a steel one 1,000kms ago.

- Performance tuned, 170rwkw running 10PSI (digital controller allows 4 stages of boost ranging from stock up to 18PSI). Have dyno read out.

- Custom made 3" exhaust system. Stainless steel dump pipe, hi-flo cat to 4" cannon.

- Gizmo 4 stage digital boost controller.

- High-flow K&N pod filter. (I still have the original air box)

- Bosch 040 fuel pump (fitted roughly 4,000kms ago).

Other features include:

- Cobalt Autometer boost gauge.

- Pioneer headunit with bluetooth and remote.

- 6" JL splits up front and 6" JL's in rear.

- Boot is prewired for an amp, just plug one in.

- Immobilizer integrated into remote central locking (this had to be installed for insurance purposes)

- Super Heavy Duty Marshall battery, installed Dec 09

I am selling the car due to changing work committments. I will be losing my company car and purchasing a brand new one personally. A 2d coupe would not suit my new career, nor as a daily drive.

I'm wanting a relatively quick sale on this if I can. The new car I'm interested in is the new Falcon, and will be available soon hence my desire to sell. Obviously I am negotiable on price. A rough ball park figure I have in mind is $10,000-$11,000. I paid my rego and insurance in Feb, so if I am unable to secure that amount I'm willing to lower it and make it back on the policy return.

I'm no mechanical expert but I will try to answer questions if they are asked. This car is already listed on Ebay and Carpoint/Carsales. The ad on Carpoint contains a different gallery of photos. I took more once the weather got better, they are posted here and on Ebay.

Sorry if I have missed any info or required fields, I'll edit the post accordingly if so.

Thanks and regards,

Sam.

To the user who PM'd me. I'm unable to reply via PM as my post count is below 10.

Sorry but I'm not interested in a trade. I'm purchasing a new MkII XR8. An '06 XR6T isn't really what I'm after.

Thanks anyway =)

I'm located in Berwick.

To the other user who PM'd me. Yes it's still for sale, and yes I'm willing to negotiate on a price. How much so depends on you coming to see me and having a chat =)

Cheers.

What's the lowest price you can go?

Been inactive for a while, just giving this another bump.

Price is 10k but I'm willing to move if a serious buyer comes my way.

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
