do they detect the detector that the detectors cannot detect, while still detecting there dectors?

While you were trying to be a smart ass you forgot how to use "THEIR" in the correct context. Oh, and dectors?

+1 for Skyryan's comment, they've been trying to ban these things in WA for about that long yeah. Always appears to be a thinly veiled threat however.

Well I just spend the $$$ I was saving for a detector on a gaming laptop instead, so if it still hasn't being banned the next time I save up enough I'll get one... ;)

EDIT: quick observation, besides almost always seeing a detector on a import of some sort I've also started seeing a bunch of 4x4 soccer mums with detectors?!

Soccer mums... nuff said

I had a vertical mount radar detector plastered smack bang in the center of my windscreen for 12 months

Never even got pulled over once and it was pretty obvious because I have no tint, so car behind could see it.

Just don't be a dick to the police officer and you SHOULD be ok.

I should get another, I miss the constant beeping

Their effectiveness is limited, and pretty much useless for laser/handheld as when the detector goes off it's pretty much just telling you that you've been done.

My old radar detector wasn't very effective, and police won't hassle you as long as you don't stick it in the middle of the screen. I had a detector for about 2 years out of 15 years of driving and I have never had a speeding ticket. Didn't really change my driving habits and during the time that I had the detector it didn't make me feel like speeding or anything.

They are useful for people with lead foots to help them change their driving habits, as I find it did make you think twice. I never relied upon it to get me out of anything.

Beltronics STI (Imported from America). Comes with a speaker. It saved my license about 3 times since I have used it. AFIAK you can mount them but they are illegal to turn on. Sounds like a rumor but then again it sounds like a silly law.

oooh one step ahead

radar detectors are legal in WA.

radar jammers are not.

yes i've seen detector/jammers mounted and hard wired in cars, but if you know what you're looking for (I assume a cop would?) they are easy to spot. I just saw on the news about the new 'video' cameras they are going to use, not sure of how they would work or be detected. I like the police minister going on about the more cameras the safer the roads, without any statistics to back that claim.

Interesting how they say 1/3 of revenue will go to victims of road trauma, how about the rest going to fixing the roads and educating drivers better to fix the problem first.

Years ago I took my front number plate off to reposition it after adding an FMIC. I had it in my window on display and was driving for a brief trip. The police pulled me over because they said I was trying to evade multinovas, they saw the radar detector and said that was definitely what i was doing.

thats the best place for it

mr policeman doesnt like it though

In my experiences the cops don't treat you any worse. I've been caught by hand-held lasers a couple of times (just doing a few k's over) with the radar detector in full view. I think it actually makes the cops happier, because they managed to "catch" you even though you had a radar detector. The cops either mentioned whether it went off or completely ignored the radar detector. Just given me a warning or a ticket and sent me on my way, didn't start giving me a hard time with a RBT, checking tyres, asking me to pop the hood, etc.

The multinovas are getting phased out anyway and replaced by laser so it doesn't matter if they ban them eventually. Everybody will just end up getting those parking sensors that also just happen to jam laser. I find the radar detectors are great for knowing when emergency services or roadworks are about... I've always wondered how deaf drivers know about emergency vehicles without checking their mirrors for flashing lights every second?

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
