Hey guys

looking at an r32 with rb25 in nsw but b4 looking further.

Wat kinda hassels will I hit getting it registerd here?

It's engineerd but has aftermarket parts such as injectors ecu ect.

Can I just get a rwc and that's it or will Vic roads wanna inspect the car in person?

Cheers guys

I've just done a similar thing with a Falcon.

Take the details (VIN / Eng No.) to a Vicroads office, they will confirm that it exists on the system. If so, you won't need to present the car, just get a RWC then pay the registration / transfer / Plates fees.

Being that it's a modified car, I don't think it will be quite as simple as it otherwise could.

I'd give VicRoads a bell and ask them.

Did this very thing with my car.

AFAIK as long as the NSW rego lists the current engines number matched to the VIN number, get a RWC, go to the nearest Vicroads office with the car (they checked my vin and engine number) and they will issue a vic rego and cancel the NSW one.

Best bet is to contact vicroads and get them to tell you the procedure.

Good luck.

rwc only.

I just picked up our new car from Qld, got a roadie and went to vicroads and handed in the plates, paid rego and stamp duty got my vic plates and left... nice and simple and car is not required for any inspections etc...

Did your car have a different engine put in it?

i work @ Vicroads, you only need to bring the VIN & Engine number, proof of purchase.. & A RWC..... AND IF THE CAR HAS HAD REGISTRATION NO MORE THEN 3 MONTHS AGO, we dont need to see the car.

Ok. At the RWC stage are you likely to run into issues as the car has had an RB25 put in it? Or is this not a big enough change to warrant engineering and certification?

I've forgotten all the Vic rules associated with engine swaps and the like.

as far as i know it would have to have an engineers for an rb25, which the one i was looking at doesnt and after speaking more with the guy he has no idea about the car at all so have strayed away from that car lol.

thansk for all the replys guys, really big help
