Hey folks

I picked this up around 6 months ago and it's been a top little run about. Very fuel efficient and reasonably zippy. I'm up to 7 cars right now so unfortunately due to space some of them have to go.

Here are all the details

Asking $3600 negotiable

1999 Toyota Corolla Conquest 1.8L Auto - AE102

Around 3 months rego left, Pink slipped 3 months ago when I put 6 months on it so shouldn't need another pinkie for 9 months.

Power Windows in the front

Power mirrors

Icy cold Air Con, best air con in any car i've ever owned!

17 inch 5 spoke wheels + near new tyres

Extractors/headers

Sports steering wheel

Sony Xplod cd player head unit with Aux input for MP3 player

New front brake pads

New brake master cylinder

Tinted windows

Tow bar

recent service, New filters, air, oil, fuel.

A few bad points

Quite high klms at 367,000, but compression is quite good across the board at around 140psi. Possibly had a reco at some stage but unsure.

Engine runs nice and smooth and starts easily.

It needs new cv's as there is a slight shake in the steering wheel at 90 - 100 kph. I can get new shafts and have them fitted before sale for around $220 extra if the buyer chooses.

And lastly there is a small patch of clear coat missing from the bonnet as pictured. I have no idea how this happened as it was like this when I purchased it. I don't think there would be much cost in having it repaired but it didn't bother me so I left it as it. The rest of the body/paint is ok, a few scuffs etc here and there but nothing major i've come across. Comes up very nice after a wash, but it could do with a polish

It recently made a 1000k round trip up the coast and never missed a beat. I wouldn't hesitate to take it on a long trip at all.

Any questions, Please don't hesitate to ask.

Car is located near Wollongong NSW, about an hour south of Sydney.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
