As some of you may have read, my Skyline got EPA'ed. To my ears it's not that loud, but to the EPA's it's 96dB on back-off. I'd like to try and get it cleared next weekend if possible as I'm planning to sell the car in about 3 months time.

Does anyone have a full stock exhaust for an R34 GT-T 4 Door that I could borrow just for next weekend to pass the test? I'll return it straight away :)

no the coupe ones do not fit. Juliette i will let you know tomorrow. i had a stock one made up for my 4-door. my mate who makes exhausts systems up has mine at his shop ur welcome to borrow it if he still has it. will let you know though.

bah nissan had to make them diff huh?

i even had a 32 gtr exhaust on my sedan at one stage ah the good old days when things were interchangable

Nissan had to make R34 4 doors completed retarded to the coupes.. lol. as far as i know im not sure what the difference is between a standard N/A or turbo 4dr exhaust system but mine is GTT so i presume it should fit perfectly to another 4dr gtt..

The car's physically longer than a coupe by about 30cm, the exhausts aren't the same.

Bez - I'd really really appreciate borrowing it if I could. Did you say it was a GT-T exhaust rather than a GT? I'm guessing the turbo exhausts would be different to N/A.

i got a rear muffler that i got made up so when i got epa'd i could just unbolt my old one and put this one on and it comes in at 82db. if your interested i can chuck up a pic to see if it will fit.

Would it suit 3" piping?

yep cause my system was 3". it shrinks to like 2" or something its nothing special just something to pass the epa.

im pretty sure ive still got the gasket for it too so it should bolt on, ill check in the shed in a min and get a pic if you want.

the pic is a bit blurry but it makes sence. id say it would bolt onto your car i cant see the rear setup being much different to the 2door i think its only longer in the 4 door but i could be wrong.

Thanks mate. I'll try to take a look under my car tomorrow in the light and see if it'll fit. It'd be a damn sight easier to collect than a full exhaust, which would not fit in the car.

no probs. its also alot easier to install than a whole exhaust aswell. :P

was having a chat to you in shep about it so they sent you the epa then.. spend the money and get a H.K.S silent exhaust and they pass and you still get the performance of a flow through system i think there 89 decibels

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
