I hate you guys.    :spank:

Here is a pic of a car I did a while ago.

Happy now?

The plot thickens :P

That's the engine bay of my old car you just posted mate... What do you mean "here's a pic of a car I did a while ago?"

G'day, you're on the speaker with Andrew... Adrian I presume? :)

Great stuff!!! What tyres were you using? Very impressive for a FWD...

Any pics of the whole car?

I was using 22 x 8 x 15 MT's. I don't have any pics of the whole car handy, but it's just a stock looking black EK Civic.

BTW, I edited the post above for your benefit. Hope you like it!

I thought that was Mark's Civic? I saw it run a few times at EC... The entire crowd loved it... Sleepers like that are the best :)

No, I'ts Mark. I'm the one who did all the work while Adrian drank all of BD4's beer!!! (only joking).

What happened with the car?

ROFL... Adrian claimed he had done most of the work :)

Well I bought it off Lee about 1.5 years ago, and I sold it about 2 months ago to a bloke down in Wollongong and moved onto a GTR (see avatar)

I did a few more tweaks to the car before selling it, but I never got around to building the engine, so I'm afraid it left my hands running a max of 1.2 bar and making 280rwkw...

Here's the spec sheet whilst I owned it: See if you can pick my additions :spank:

Trust 10 Row Oil Cooler w/ Oil Filter Relocation Kit

HKS Vernier Cam Gears

NISMO Triple Plate G-Max Clutch

Thats about it engine wise. Did you change the pressure reg? We put an APEX one on it.

Kept the APEXi fuel regulator on there... It was doing fine... I wasn't even stressing out the injectors...

I also added the Trust Type-R BOV on there... You guys didn't deem a BOV necessary for a turbo capable of 1.8 bar boost?!??!? What was up with that?

A couple of other additions :)

Blitz SBC-ID Boost Controller

Blitz PowerMeter-ID

APEXi Turbo Timer

Pivot Shift Light

Cusco Carbon Fibre Front Strut Brace

Recaro SR Front Seats

AP Racing 6 Piston Calipers

DBA 332mm 'Kangaroo Paw' Slotted Rotors

Hey Andrew, I don't suppose you know anyone with a near stock R33 GTS-T?

I'm in the process of making up some cooler/plenum kits for them but the car I've got here has been in an accident and doesn't have a stock A/C fan, making intercooler positioning difficult. If someone is willing to donate their car for a few days they will end up with an extremely nice setup for a very good price :)

Mark, I'm sure if you started a thread asking for volunteers, you'd have an line 50 people long outside your workshop :spank:

Everyone wants to get rid of the standard plenum... B-Man on these forums took a standard plenum and flow tested it and the results were abysmal!!

I thought there would at least be air guides/fins inside the plenum directing airflow for even distribution, but it's just hollow in there...

    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
    • OK, if it idles at 1000+ with the AAC, its not an idle airflow problem. The cold start valve just gives extra air when the engine is cold, but you have enough air without it to idle at 1000. I think you are back to a fuel problem, sorry. Can you see the fuel pressure staying constant or does it drop as the revs drop to a stall?
