Anyone know of any courses for microsoft access, I have few cluncky programs and processes at work and I want to get rid of them and set them up using an access platform.

Other platforms considered, but I'm not a computer programmer and am not looking at anything too over the top [played with Dbase and batch files and stuff, but basic small things].

Also has to be by Distance Ed or at the TAFE? Am willing to travel a bit but constrained by my location [country NSW].

Really depends on what you know, and then just have a look over TAFE options and even MS short courses.

Might mean doing a "basic" or similar to cover all the basic stuff (incase you are missing) and then moving onto a more specific area.

I haven't played with MS access for a while but the fancier stuff (buttons, forms, etc) used to be done in Visual Basic in the background.

There are plenty of places that provide online courses which you could look at.

I entered online ms access courses into google search and then made it return pages from australia

Yeah, thanks Nismoid, UNE has one over the web, and some business in Townsville has another option via CD Rom learning. I dfid do a bit of looking around, but my TAFE only offers a limited range [Mechanical, welding, forestry, admin, small business etc etc], so i basically have to look to a distance learning solution.

Just thought 'I'll never know if I don't ask', somebody might have a course they recommend.

And thanks Dean, been there done that, sort of looking to see personal experiences etc

I should probably offer an alternative, keeping in mind I work for a place that does this kind of thing. Get some custom software written in .NET connecting to SQL (you can use SQL express so don't go looking at SQL licensing).

    • Just to be clear, there were no lights or codes when the hiccups were occurring. Also nothing noticeable in the cars' braking. It brakes fine and the dash is clear. I only made the connection when it did throw a code and suddenly, despite the lights, it felt great again.
    • Yeah they are sliders and this was in my head before I worked out it was the speed sensor.
    • Ok so we have a smoking gun.  A few weeks ago I had to replace a speed sensor that I'd fit incorrectly. I replaced the sensor and everything was fine with no lights or codes thrown any longer.  When I was doing some more bedding in yesterday I got ABS and traction control lights again and, considering when this happens those things are disabled, the pedal went back to normal with smooth braking and no hiccups.  The codes thrown are for the same speed sensor that I replaced. When I looked at the sensor I took out it looks like the tip of the sensor is damaged. So whatever happened to it, perhaps it has damaged the magnetic ring on the bearing (that I only replaced the other week). I'll get my boroscope in the hole where the sensor goes and see if there is any damage in there. Hopefully just the tip of the sensor is in there and the bearing is fine. 🤞🏻  It's worth noting also that the pedal hiccup happens more often and for longer periods now and totally goes away when the codes are thrown again which happens usually after 5 or so minutes of driving. Love all your help here as usual guys, thanks!
