FARRRRK YEAH!

Not to fly my own flag, but I'm stoked to say i was a part of this bullshit coming down.

If anyone has Zoom issue 146, you can read my 2 page article on page 96 :ninja:

Everyone can breathe easy now, just hopefully the government will learn from their mistakes, cos no doubt that failure of a testing regime cos the tax payer thousands... (unlikely though...)

YEWWW!

sorry for being uneducated. can someone please explain this in normal persons speak??

the IM240 test is/was an emissions test. Basically it was stupidly hard to pass (some cars from failed the test from the factory) and there was only one place in WA that could perform the testing. It costs anywhere from $900 for a standard 4cyl small car, to $3000+ If you fail and need work done to pass it. Another thing is the place that performed the testing wasn't run by the government, so can be pretty unfair. Also they only have a 2WD dyno so full time AWD cars like evos, wrxs, landcruisers etc couldn't be tested!

It was just another bit of ammo that the cops could use to attack modified car enthusiasts, cos any exhaust or performance modifications needed to be tested!

Read over this: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wa...ws-t279393.html

Great news WA guys. Glad they didn't pass it for you.

f**k yeah f**k the emissions!

Nah..... F**K the stupid politicians that make the stupid rules up... I want my kids to breathe clean air AND drive modified cars. FTMFW...

Also did that place also sold their own 'special CATs' that you will 'magically' pass if you buy it from them?

haha yeah, I loved how the engines they built always seemed to pass, some even with retro fitted carbies over an efi system! Lol what a joke! I even heard rumors of a special cam design for Holden 5L and 355 strokers that were advertised to make stupid power levels and still be compliant...

    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
