Hi people,

Sadly I've decided to sell my '86 HR31 Skyline GTS-X Coupe.

RB20DET, 5 speed manual, 146,000 k's, rego til 11/2010, safety cert.

$9,000ono

I've owned this car for a bit over six years and I've kept it completely original, just as I bought it. The main reason for selling is that I simply need the garage space. Plus I very rarely drive it so it's kind of a waste of money having it sitting in the garage not being used...

This car came FULLY optioned from the factory and has the following features:

ABS.

Power steering.

HICAS.

Nismo suspension package - Electronically adjustable shocks, F & R strut braces.

LSD.

Electric windows, mirrors & drivers seat.

Central locking.

Climate control air con.

Tilt steering colum.

Leather steering wheel.

Optional sterio upgrade - Dolby head unit, 2-way rear speakers, electric antenna.

Interior "Air Purifyer" fitted to the rear parcel shelf.

Factory "Skyline" floor mats.

Fold down rear seats.

3 point 12v power outlets in the boot.

Factory option powder coated alloy wheels.

Retractable front "GT Auto Spoiler"

Rear Spoiler.

Wheel spats.

Rain deflectors on the mirrors, side windows and rear window.

I would say it's overall condition is immaculate for it's age. Check out the photos but it actually looks better in person!

Body:

It's as strait as a die, has no rust at all, and it's never been in an accident. The paint is exceptional aside from a few stone chips around the front and very minor scratches here and there. All the rubbers are still like new.

Interior:

The interior is near mint, even the original factory "Skyline" floor mats are like new... The drivers seat has electric adjustable bolsters and lumbar support, still works. Inside the boot is perfect, looks like it's never been used. This car has never been smoked in.

Mechanical:

It has the original red top RB20DET and 5 speed manual. Motor runs well, doesn't use any oil at all. The car drives beautifully, feels nice and tight like a new car, no squeeks and rattles. Recently had a new mandrel bent exhaust fitted (cat back) which was made to the original specs. New front shocks. New bump stops all round. New Bendix Ultimate brake pads all round. Recently serviced.

It's been a very reliable car for me, never let me down. It has rego until 11/2010 and comes with a safety certifiacte.

You would be hard pressed to find a better original example of this model in Australia. Suit an enthusiast.

Regretful sale, $9,000ono.

Genuine enquiries only please, no time wasters/test pilots.

Cheers, Shane

Thanks mate! Yeah it's a beautiful car alright, and I really wish I could keep it but I just need the garage space... I have no doubt that I'll regret selling it though, I'll never be able to find another one like this... And yeah, I've been told by a few people not to drop the price any further and believe me, I don't want to. I think it's a bargain at $8,500!

Cheers! :)

    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
    • It's been quite the ordeal but hey, at least you figured it out.
    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow
