Hey All,

Myself and a few mates are taking my car down to Gavin Woods on the 5th for a tune and afterwards are planning to head to Aspley Maccas as I know it is usually not to bad. Quick question does anything else exciting happen on a thurs night down there and how many people from the forums go there?

Aspley maccas is getting huge again, but doubt, like anything it will get locked down by the cops one of these days.

Roma Street is always good on a thursday night. We normally get to roma street around 8:30ish to get a good park and then watch all the nice cars drive past. It normally really packs out about 9:30 and as their aren't many parks, there are heaps of traffic jams. But the busy times are from about 9:30 onwards.

Yea it seems to be a huge problem lately the cops are really tightening down on "car meets" its annoying because the people who just want to stop and talk can't do it without getting stuck with the cops going through your car and usually finding a "defect" somewhere! Excuse my lack of knoweledge of brissy but where in roma street do you park? I know vaugely where it is but lol where to park would be a mystery to me!

Theres two enterances into Roma Street. One off Roma Street just past the Transit centre (near the construction site for the new courts) you go in and theres a round about or theirs another entrance at the top of the parklands (I think it's Gregory Terrace) I'd go this way if you have a lowered car. The speed bumps in roma street like ripping exhausts off.

Aspley maccas is packed. You drive in there and there isn't one carpark available. Last time we went out there, I didn't even attempt to drive in. There isn't just bogans there.

To me, aspley will always have a bad reputation. Everytime we went there about 6 months ago, their were fights with knives and guns.. SO we stopped going their.

hmm yea i dont like the brissy speed humps in carparks i can see the supredrager getting detached from my car! Might have to check out Aspley and Roma street, although guns and knives dont really seem like a place to be...it might be a good thing the cops will be there :D

Personally I wouldnt this week. Last week new sercurity guard was there, didnt let anyone park in the main carpark, this then annoyed the now slight 'bogan' factor (seems bogans found turbos hey...) and they started to do skids, chirps etc, so at a guess Id say the cops are gona rock up there soon anyway. But yeah, if they dont its really good, could have just been the other guy was on holidays or something.

LOL whatever Erin, I dunno about all that hey... Maybe some rumors or something...

I am down there not this week but the week after anyway. Being from noosa a simple drive around down there is more interesting than our entire night...so I will hopefully see some decent cars and be able to congregate somewhere without being kept there for hours so a cop can inspect my car!

Rumours?? what are you talking about rumours...

We were sitting in the hypermarket watching the fight and listening to the cops talk about it over the scanner...

hahha..

cops will start to crack down.. in sydney and melbourne they've had cops and security guards for years now.. its something you guys have got to get used to i think.

Hanging around maccas is kinda lame though.. i mean its such a shit place, and its so open and crap and u usally get a whole heap of muzzas.. plenty of better places to meet.

    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
