girls also will tend to like a "fixer upper man." a good bet is to drive a 1957 chevrolet. this will create a fantasy of "sexy work in progress." not only will it turn more heads than a skyline, it will create a fantasy image for the woman of a man who is different, ie, one to watch. and women work off of fantasy frequently. men tend to use straight porn. yet the female fantasy world is porn for her. it is just another type. think of family circle magazine, "chick flicks" like sleepless in seattle, etc, as "female porn." talk shows about emotional issues and fashion is "female porn." for example, driving a sedan may appeal to the female's fantasy of settling down with a family - "female porn." and the dressing/smelling well man will appeal to her hygienic side, as well as her self-image side, as she will be projecting her own socialized sense of vanity upon the man. that is, the pressure to look good is very high in women, as magazines and hollywood, other women, perpetuate this. she will project that upon the man, feeling that if he looks good, too, then he must have ambition: a key in being the fantasy man "provider." this, too, is female porn.

so stealthy yet on the surface is female porn, that men overlook this basic principle that gets the sexes together. the problem is that, typically, not always, but typically i tell you, men are too busy projecting their OWN vanity and idea of porn, their own fantasy, upon the woman. and that leads to the car issue: women usually will not respond to any particular make or model of car as they are seeing a broader issue - the fantasy man. and they will respond to "different/sexy" before they respond to specific make or model. so, then we have: men = "1995 BCNR 33"; women = "cute sexy car, quirky and fun"

now, every person has their own idea of different, but we are left only to generalize here for sake of argument. were the skyline painted candy-apple purple - that is the fantasy man image of "fun and sexy"; that is "different." were it a candy-apple purple SEDAN -- wow for her again. that is not only different and sexy, that is "family man," "cool," "funny," "sexy", "daddy" etc...

be the obnoxious and funny owner when she meets this fantasy man (that is, YOU) at the party with the candy-apple purple skyline or 1957 chevrolet and the man is on the way to getting laid. :aroused:

imo, women typically cannot differentiate one car from another. they are not good with names of cars, specifics of any kind. they don't care about stats, race history, year model, trim package, engine choice, all of that stuff we have created an entire forum about. females typically respond more to HOW the man drives the car, how the car sounds, how it smells, what color it is, the texture of the seats, how it feels. of course, having a sports car helps because it can allow the driver to be sexier. a rusted out ford sedan will not cut it. i think a typical female response to the skyline would be that it looks like a honda or toyota or something other than what it is. if you said "oh. this is a skyline," the woman would not be able to remember that name the following day. were she interested in the man, she would remember his voice tone, how his hands looked, how he smelled, the way he walked to the car, the way he shifted the gears, etc. the car would just be a "vehicle" for the more meaty issues that charm the female.

conversely, some men equate or regard the skyline as higher and more interesting than the female, ie, it replaces or is the female. at least easier to manage. the ideal world would be having both the skyline and the female in harmony.

hahaha sensational!

It's a ridiculous thing to do, but if you want a car that chicks like then just get a convertible, I drove a friends BMW Z3 2.2i for a while, that thing would get panties wet like nothing else, just the words 'BMW' and 'convertible' did the trick. The 2.2i wasn't particularly fast, but it did have some power compared to the early Z3's which were dogs, all the same it had a sweet sounding engine, and with the top down it's exactly the kind of car chicks love, a Z4 would do the job even better now.

As for skylines, well they'll only impress with the power I think, skylines, as much as I hate to say it, aren't lookers in that 'whoah' sense, well maybe a tricked out r34;)

A mate came around last week to show me his new car (I was expecting a Datsun 1600 or something) to find that he'd bought a "Eureka". I'd never heard or seen 1 before so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a combination of a Subaru RS 2.5L Turbo engine, Volkswagon Chassis, Ford Telstra Steering + Suspension and a Fibreglass shell = a total of 800kg.

I've got some pics of it at home, its pretty rough but god damn it pulls the women. We drove 1km to fill up (LPG - $8.80 for a a full tank) and I've never had so many people waving and staring at us in all my life (well apart from when I go to the local clubs.... but I can't help that :)).

I'll post some pics when I get home before I explain any further...

Are you all finding the younger women chasing you now? I remember back in high school, it used to give me the shits where the filth chicks would only go out with older guys who drove hot cars! I was always like WTF! That guy's just a lap rat!

I didn't rely on my skyline to pull my GF, just my elephant dance :)

haha loving this thread

you all know that when you meet a chich the first thing she goes back and tells her friends is the car you drive etc etc

and dont we all know how much of an influence their friends are to them,

True... I was out with some chick friends afew weeks back and I asked if 1 of them had got any mob#'s that nite from guys and she did get 1... her best friend says "What type of car does he have?" hahah I was like "wtf does it matter what type of car he has..."

:)

This thread did exactly what I wanted it to do,

And might I also add that the comments by bonzelite are terrifyingly accurate.. in summary it's not about "what" car you drive.. its about the image. Whether you like it or not driving a nice car does help when it comes to the opposite sex.

Girls dont like boys girls like cars and money has some element of truth to it, even though all females viciously dispute it because they dont know how their own brains work ;)

Knore: Have you noticed more attention from the girls since you got the GTST not so long ago?

When I got my car all the girls I knew who where 18, 19 y/o's wanted to be driven around in it..

you all know that when you meet a chich the first thing she goes back and tells her friends is the car you drive etc etc

and dont we all know how much of an influence their friends are to them,

Exactly. Since i've had my sky... i havent got any more attention.

I just get a different type of it, if anyone understands that.

I can honestly say out there, that there are some chicks the love to be driven around fast.

They themselves aint got the guts/money/stupidity/skill to modify the ass outta their cars like all us males do and then drive them accordingly, but they still love the end results as a passenger.

Some actually love going really fast.

I get asked every now and then if im out with a chick or something...

"go-on... give it a run/squirt" if im on a nice stretch of road.

They have to be in a certain 'mood' though i must admit. NFI what it is though.

My 'X' mrs got a chance to drive my car once, only while it was making 180rwkw.

Now before i get flamed. I watched her carefully

I'd shown her what happens to the car once it hit boost and brakes traction.

So she was a little reserved upto about 60-80 or so. And then i let her open it up a bit and get on boost.

After a quick 10 mins i said that was enough for one day.

And once she got out of the car, she couldnt sit still. She was going crazy, all excited and shit... The amount of adrenalin that must have been running around would have been ridiculous. She just kept jumping around for hours... and it was a 'fun' few hours too

And the next day, did the run to the friends to tell them that she'd driven my car blah blah.

And some commented on it when i saw them, they got the bug too and wanted to be driven, but i wasnt offering joy-rides :)

im too good lookig for the car which intimidates the girls too much.. i guess thats why I have never picked up cos of it.

to tell u the truth, i think the biggest chick magnet i ever had was the mini supercharged... but it looked sweet with the white enkies.

A better method to pick up money hungry hoes is to get someone that works at the bank to print you out a statement of some rich guys account (Someone with atleast a few hundred thousand in the bank). Carry this with and drop it accidently while talking to the hoe, but make sure your hands are full with a drink or siggy so when she picks it up she reads your large (fake) bank balance. Once they see that their are yours for the night. :)

    • I'm looking for some real world experiences/feed back from anyone who has personally ran a EFR7670 with a 1.05 exhaust housing or a .83 I'm leaning towards the .83 because its a street car used mostly for spirited driving in the canyons roads. I"m not looking for big numbers on paper. I want a responsive powerband that will be very linear to 8000 rpm. I dont mind if power remains somewhat flat but dont want power to drop off on top. The turbo I've purchased is a 1.05, although the mounting flange T3 vs T4 and internal vs external waste gates are different on both housings, I not concern about swapping parts or making fabrication mods to get what I want. Based on some of the research I've done with chat gpt, the 1.05 housing seems to be the way to go with slightly more lag and future proofing for more mods but recommends .83 for best response/street car setup. AI doesn't have the same emotions as real people driving a GTR so I think you guys will be able to give me better feed back 😀
    • Surely somebody has one in VIC. Have you asked at any shops?  Is this the yearly inspection or did you get a canary?
    • This is where I share pain with you, @Duncan. The move to change so many cooling system pieces to plastic is a killer! Plastic end tanks and a few plastic hose flanges on my car's fail after so little time.  Curious about the need for a bigger rad, is that just for long sessions in the summer or because the car generally needs more cooling?
    • So, that is it! It is a pretty expensive process with the ATF costing 50-100 per 5 litres, and a mechanic will probably charge plenty because they don't want to do it. Still, considering how dirty my fluid was at 120,000klm I think it would be worth doing more like every 80,000 to keep the trans happy, they are very expensive to replace. The job is not that hard if you have the specialist tools so you can save a bit of money and do it yourself!
    • OK, onto filling. So I don't really have any pics, but will describe the process as best I can. The USDM workshop manual also covers it from TM-285 onwards. First, make sure the drain plug (17mm) is snug. Not too tight yet because it is coming off again. Note it does have a copper washer that you could replace or anneal (heat up with a blow torch) to seal nicely. Remove the fill plug, which has an inhex (I think it was 6mm but didn't check). Then, screw in the fill fitting, making sure it has a suitable o-ring (mine came without but I think it is meant to be supplied). It is important that you only screw it in hand tight. I didn't get a good pic of it, but the fill plug leads to a tube about 70mm long inside the transmission. This sets the factory level for fluid in the trans (above the join line for the pan!) and will take about 3l to fill. You then need to connect your fluid pump to the fitting via a hose, and pump in whatever amount of fluid you removed (maybe 3 litres, in my case 7 litres). If you put in more than 3l, it will spill out when you remove the fitting, so do quickly and with a drain pan underneath. Once you have pumped in the required amount of clean ATF, you start the engine and run it for 3 minutes to let the fluid circulate. Don't run it longer and if possible check the fluid temp is under 40oC (Ecutek shows Auto Trans Fluid temp now, or you could use an infrared temp gun on the bottom of the pan). The manual stresses the bit about fluid temperature because it expands when hot an might result in an underfil. So from here, the factory manual says to do the "spill and fill" again, and I did. That is, put an oil pan under the drain plug and undo it with a 17mm spanner, then watch your expensive fluid fall back out again, you should get about 3 litres.  Then, put the drain plug back in, pump 3 litres back in through the fill plug with the fitting and pump, disconnect the fill fitting and replace the fill plug, start the car and run for another 3 minutes (making sure the temp is still under 40oC). The manual then asks for a 3rd "spill and fill" just like above. I also did that and so had put 13l in by now.  This time they want you to keep the engine running and run the transmission through R and D (I hope the wheels are still off the ground!) for a while, and allow the trans temp to get to 40oC, then engine off. Finally, back under the car and undo the fill plug to let the overfill drain out; it will stop running when fluid is at the top of the levelling tube. According to the factory, that is job done! Post that, I reconnected the fill fitting and pumped in an extra 0.5l. AMS says 1.5l overfill is safe, but I started with less to see how it goes, I will add another 1.0 litres later if I'm still not happy with the hot shifts.
