Any importers or knowledgeable people out there know the average, or just a rough idea of the, price premium a V-spec II has over a basic GTR (34 GTR) when importing, assuming all things equal, say grade 4 stocker and just for shits and giggles perhaps Nur price diff aswell ?

or is it too varied to bother putting a number down ?

Price to import vspec II will most likely yield over 65-80k landed and complied. All depends on condition. In regards to the nur, mine was almost 90k landed and complied 4.5 grade (only cause of the k's). Now I'm not sure if colour has to do with anything fetching higher price but I find that pirvate sales here will be cheaper than importing (the yen is tough) but I reckon importing is for finding a top quality car if you do the research.

I'm sure the import guru's here can give you the best advice. This is just from my experience.

thanks mate. Yeh the reason I'm asking is looking around at private sales a V-spec II is only around the 55-60k mark (obviously there are some more expensive ones out there too) and a plain GTR is around 45-55k so not a HUGE difference, but I was under impression importing a V-spec II would be around the 70k mark so just wanted to clarify :)

thanks again

perfect advice. with the way things are right now with the aud and with the current car market and the japanese market you would only really import a GTR to be able to chose from the largest pool of cars and have a chance at finding a really special or rare car or just one in fantastic condition. but if you want a average condition R34 GTR at a bargain price then you should probably be shopping locally and haggle with local sellers. It holds even more so for R32 and R33 GTRs but still applies to R34s in my eyes.

cheers baron, tbh I would rather a VERY clean stocker than a cheap already modified car. But will look around a bit more and see what the potential difference is.

I want something as close to stock as possible, dont mind intake/exhaust and rims and stuff, but nothing thats really modified, built engine, big turbos or anything like that

Also I'm specifically after a white V-spec II, so I figured importing would have a larger pool to fish from

    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
    • Wouldn’t touch par if they gave it to me. You need to ask how much power you’re looking to make and then add about 50% to it because that’s what you’ll end up making  The factory box says no more at about 350kw or so, the upgraded synchro boxes won’t handle much over 500kw for long and at that point you’re looking at an auto or dog engagement manual,  once you’ve gone dog engagement you may as well go sequential, they cost a little bit more but it’s worth it  also while you’re at it you should upgrade the transfer case with 10 friction plates
