Well there's a couple of Maccas at Preston, u mentioning the one opposite northland or the one on Bell St near St Georges Rd? Opposite Nthland not too bad depending how many cars we got. If we get in early before the weekend shopping rush pours in. But at about 10-ish I'd suppose many shops will be opened already and too many cars there. We can go to Maccas Bell St, rock up early, have some breakkie then go from there.

Hi Geoff,

Sounds good.

There's like 2 or 3 threads of this now in this forum can be quite confusing to follow...

northern suburb guys meet at 9.45am @ bell st maccas? I read about the western suburb gonna be at calder 10.30am and they got vip treatment for sau club, like opening the door early just for us. It's in the other thread... so let's northerners be there too!

WTF happens man.... You northerners are a bunch of no-shows :)

I've been waiting in that Bell St Maccas from 9.45 for about 1/2 hr.

Not a single soul show up.... so I left 10.15 and go straight to Calder as some of the others is suppose to show up 10.30 there...

I arrived like 10.40 and there's only a couple of SAU members there. That looks like one of the most disorganised meet-up.

Anyhow I had a great day at Calder. We still manage to get the SAU people to park at one corner of the main car park outside, maybe about 10-15 cars only. Those Jap D1 drivers are nuts!!!! Those who didn't go miss out a big time....

BTW Funkeh, did you go? I didn't see you there.

hehe.....i waited at the shell station on toorak rd 9:45-10:15 waiting for the convoy from megamart to swing by but no show....so i just headed up myself to find that the gates were already open, organisers didnt know what was goin on when i mentioned SAU. asked about the wrist band for pit acess and they knew nothing about it.

ah well......its hard to get things perfect all the time:D:D

Ja, sorry about my no-show :) I had all sorts of problems 'cause I was playing taxi. Ended up having to go out to blackburn do do a pickup : got there eventually, and the ppl at the gates said i get my pit pass inside? couldn't find the SAU guys for a while.

But all in all a great day out. The Jap D1 guys were awesome :) the people I was playing taxi for were whinging so i had to ditch after the first round of qualifying - so next time I'll go on my own with people who are actually interested in it - like u guys :)

I was there in a bright red R33 from 09:35 with a choccy thickshake until 09:55 cause I thought I was stood up, and rolled in at Calder just before 10:30. Even then James and the guys were a bit late but it was a great event, even if it is just lair-assin' about. Gotta admire the skill of the D1 guys.

Anyways, no biggie. The end result was the same for those who went...a good day.

what?? where were u? didn't u see my car when I arrive?

anyhow good to hear you went... yeah those D1 drivers were awesome.

so much corner entry speed...

pity I had to leave around 3pm so miss the rest of the show.

heard there were even more to see after I left.

Right beside the drive thru, and left north on St George.

Next time dude.

funny, there was a few guys hanging around near the drive thru... around a bright red lancer coupe....

omg, i hate to think that's you.... cos it means ur R33 looks like a lancer to me.

he he :)

    • When you crank your car, and hit it with a timing light, can you see a steady crank timing?
    • Oh, forgot to add, A few months ago I was getting mixture codes and the car was using crap loads of fuel. You could smell the unburned fuel in the exhaust, it was crazy strong. Economy was over 17.5 l/100 and usually around 19. I smoked the engine and found a leaky CCV hose which I replaced and then I replaced my two pre cat O2 sensors, I also replaced the MAF. This fixed my mixture codes and improved my exonomy but I'm still 14 - 15 l/100 when pottering about town so something is still amiss. Throttle response is much better and it has more pep but I'd like to know why it's still so thirsty (and I'm hoping that whatever it is gives me a bit more poke).

    • Hello all, currently finishing up a rb25 swap into my s14. Having issues with starting, car has spark (confirmed by pulling a plug and watching it spark), has fuel(confirmed by checking pulse/voltage at injectors all spark plugs are soaked in fuel). Car cranks over and pops into the exhaust with a heavy fuel smell but no attempt to start or run, I have torn the timing cover off and triple confirmed timing, turned the CAS in multiple spots both directions, attempted to start with coolant temp and maf unplugged, checked my fuel lines and made sure they weren’t backwards, checked voltage at cas/injectors/coilpacks, made sure all the grounds in the harness are connected and added a few grounding straps (1 from chassis to block, 1 from chassis to head, and 1 from chassis to igniter chip) I am getting stumped here. As a last ditch effort I made a full grounding harness tonight that’s going to run from the battery and add an extra ground from the battery onto the coil pack harness/igniter chip/ intake manifold/ Wiring specialties harness ground/ and alternator. I’m hoping maybe the grounding harness will fix it here but posting here to see if anyone has any other ideas on what else I can check. My fuel pressure is unknown right gauge will be here tomorrow.  IMG_3206.mov
