There are a couple of good ones for the $200 ones, but I'm not going to say because i might want one of them soon myself :(

**** those custom ones.. $2k for plates it the biggest joke in the history of driving. Only for people with too much money, not for plebs.

If you like your car to look the part.....polish....paint...carbon etc.

Finish the car off and buy a set of plates????? (people alway notice your plates)

$2000 is cheap and you can alway resell and get your money back...if not more.

But choose a plate tag, that others will want....(names are not a good idea, resale market very limited and you will lose your money)

Consider it as an investment...putting your money in a bank for another day....but enjoying it at the same time.

Older boys toy....Boys and their toys...cars are just toys to play with and enjoy....enjoy life buy a better toy (well thats the theme I went for..for fun and investment)

I have:

TOYS on my STI

NO TOY on my GTR

A TOY this plate will go to Auction

NSX 666 was on my Black NSX. These plates are for sale $750

95 GTR was on the the other 1995 GTR v-spec. These plates are for sale.$1000

Can anyone here suggest any good car clubs that meet regularly.

thanks Phillip

Well since I'll never be able to afford what I want, and since it is still available, what about ILCUL8R "I'll see you later" but then again if I did have $2000 sitting around I definatly would not be spending it on plates, so many mods so little cash! :(

thats the line - i guess if you're a certain type of person and has lots of money to throw around.. i could'n't really give a flog what plates a car has on as long as it looks the part..

horses for courses.. I can think how much $2k invested at 7% p.a. in 5 years will probably be worth more than a little plate.

**Step 4 Enter your Alphanumeric Combination:

Prestige Plates require an Alphanumeric combination of 3 to 6 characters.**

MELV

Yes that was me...you were a couple of lanes over....like the rear wing and the look of your car. Looks and sounds like you've just completed a few upgrades.

Worth going to ASPLEY just to have a closer look at your car.....talk to you then.

As I said, I purchased NO TOY for the GTR, but was contemplating getting SHOW ME, which was also available. Show Me makes a number of statements....good show circuit....good for tuff street car....or for seeing more than you should??? Good plate for the all round car. You would never lose your money and will make more than a pissie 7% return.

Let me know what you eventually get.

Talk to you latter Phillip.

p.s. PREDATOR are you still after the new UA copy 400R side skirts....if so you can have them for $100 a piece.

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
