9krpm, thats pretty farked.

on top of that he had to pay for the installation/removal fee + tuning time of the emanage (a couple of hundreds)

he will get a small discount for the microtech but we are not happy about the microtech if it's an incorrect wiring issue!!!

Has anyone try the microtech before? How much for supply and tune normally?

Sorry for going off topic but I am not too happy with this :bs!: now that you guys told me the Emanage works on s14s2

  • 2 weeks later...

just thought you guys would be iterested to know

got my AEM computer a few days ago

no import tax for computer but still have to pay GST + custom clearance fee ($48)

Anything over $AUD 250 will be charged

the GST is charged on good + insurance + freight. This is "criminal"!!!!! The insurrance and freight are from oversea and still get taxed :)

how did it end up working out compared to buying in Aust? any saving?

Its weird, I must be one of the luckiest people around, so far I have bought heaps of stuff, but never been slugged - sometimes the packages havent even been opened for inspection.

when there isnt a significant cost saving buying OS, I have always bought locally - gotta support the local business, but not when it costs twice as much (or more) as buying direct:)

My computer is not available in australia :)

I ordered a few other things and the package was quite big...so no luck for me.

I ordered it from the US, using UPS.

They customed the good while it's in transit from the US to here. So I guess importing is becoming harder....probably due to the Aus dollar strength and Alqueda :)

Since everyone on this thread edited, i'll edit.....some of my typo :D hehehe

Dont tell anyone, but i got my original receipt and EDITED hehe. Hence i paid nothing when i picked up everythin.

Goods i purchased were Cam gear and Apexi ECV.

9krpm, did customs make u pay when pickup or did they send a bill, cos they just told me its all good, and i could go :)

Dont tell anyone, but i got my original receipt and and photoshopped it to read at a much lower value. Hence i paid nothing when i picked up everythin.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
