<<<>>> THANKS I HAVE THE ANSWERS WILL NOT BE RECHECKING THIS <<<<>>>

Ok well with reference to my other post I have been on the phone to the RTA and my suspension starts 4th March and goes till 5th September (2004).

That means for the next month I will be allowed to drive and will need some sort of transport.

Do you think it will be wise to purchase my silvia now.. and have it for a month, and then have it parked away for 6 months ?

OR

I could get a motorcycle license ASAP, and buy a bike and sell it after a month?

I need help on this as I then have to nag my parents for lifts which is a major hassle that ill be needing during the 6 months.

NO TALK ABOUT YOU LEARNT YOUR LESSON, ABOUT WHY OR WHAT HAPPENED JUST ONLY HELPING ME WAT TO DO FOR THE NEXT MONTH

Thanks

-Dale

Yep id go for option 3 as red900ss has chosen.... public transport or keep begging your parents for lifts for another month

DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE AT THIS TIME. Honestly man, such a hassle isnt your parents driving you places but buying a vehicle for one month.

If there's a car at home you'll be tempted to drive it so dont bother.

yeah I would taxi it around. By the time you get your shit together and find a bike, get your license you will have a few days until your off the road.

Hold off buying a nissan until your off your suspension and have a little more driving under your belt.

(I just dont want to see another dead nissan!)

how frequently will you be travelling (needing transport)? everyday or just on the weekend?

if your not working every day then id say dont bother with the silvia. 6-$8000 is still alot of money for only 1 months use. i agree with red900ss with the taxis or use public transport and save for the 6 months

Ok thanks all I get the message. Guess pub transport for me :(

After my suspension which is near wen im 18 ill be nearly finished my HSC. Then I will have money for a mad car, and be able to afford insurance, and be a rehabilitated safe driver :(

The only thing i look forward too is that and what motivates me to study is that if i do well i get a good job and get a better car :(

Thanks for the help all no need to post anymore.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
