The auction grades these days should only be used as a very rough indicator, and the decision to purchase a vehicle shouldn't be made solely on the auction sheets contents.

The only way to be sure is to have someone on the ground at the Auctions personally inspect the car for you.

I have inspected 'Grade 4 & 4.5's' in person at Auctions while in Japan that barely deserved grade 2.

unfortunatly your correct grade 4 now days can be big variance depending on a lot of factors.

1. being who owns the car if its large seller known to auction house the give kinder reports.

2. being inspector is easy or hard or doesnt know really.

3. the auction owns the car meaning instant minimum grade 4

only way to do it now days is to get your man on the ground to check it with his own eyes.

also like to add - my car was graded at auction grade 3 ("very average")

it's absolutely immaculate inside and outside and has a full top to bottom months old Newing leather retrim.

non smoking, no rips tears or cracks, no scratches or crash history...

go figure! :bunny:

Yeah more recently I've noticed they're absolute shite. I'm not sure how someone could possibly get away with grading a car a 4.5 with an 80cm long deep dent in the roof. That's a dent nearly a metre long!

I've recently purchased a grade 4.5 car which was actually a deserving grade 4.5 car.

    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
