hey,

I'm about to do a suspension upgrade on the R34 GTT and I can't decide between a few things.

Basically the car is a daily driver so I want comfort but i want to be able to go for a run through the hills or to the track if i ever wanted.

so I'd ideally like a spring/shock combo with sway bars.

I've seen this on the old ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nismo-R34-upgrade-S...=item335f0b9e27

Has any had experience with this? is it worth it? seems cheap.

Otherwise I was thinking either KYB/King springs combo or bilstein/king spring combo with whiteline sway bars.

Otherwise there is the possibility of BC coilovers with softer spring rates perhaps.

Budget is $1500 - $2500

What spring shock combo should i choose? what size sway bars front and rear?

I know this has been asked 11billion times before but I'm still unsure on what to get.

Cheers

I'm thinking similar as you man and keep wishing the sydneykid bilstein kit was still available or someone would decide to sell it 2nd hand. That ebay stuff looks pretty good no idea how good they are. Springs and shocks with upgraded swaybars seems to be the go with a daily driver with some track work

Give heasmans in Sydney a call mate. Apparently they still have limited stock of the sydneykid kit available. (another member on here picked some up not long ago)

Seems i've decided to grab some greddy type s that came up for sale on here. little bit less messing around and a bit cheaper than buying new - and from all i've heard are a great coilover even on the street.

Now it is just decided what swaybars I want.

ie: what size front and rear and whether I want adjustable or not.

Anyone feel like chipping in on that front?

+1

I bought some from heasmans only a few months ago, he had them in stock and sent them straight down. Didnt sound like it was the last set or anything.

I bought the adjustable whiteline swaybars and really use the adjustability of them. You can gradually fine tune the car to how you like it. Then you can be silly and make it oversteer like a whore if you like to drift on private tracks!

Im very happy with them but havent tried any other ones so cant compare.

ahh you were the one I was thinking of with the Heasemans and bilsteins.

so i've ended up buying a set of greddy type S coilovers and will be ordering 24mm front and 20mm rear adjustable bars

So i'll have new adjustable castor arms, alloy subframe mounts, solid steering rack bush, swaybars and new coilovers all going in soonish :worship: should be fun

What holes do you generally have your swaybars set on front and rear Harey?

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
